23:1
Certainly, the believers are prosperous,
23:2
Those who they are humble in their prayer,
23:3
And those who they turn away from the foolish talk,
23:4
And those who they are doers of the alms.
23:5
And those who they are guardians to their private parts,
23:6
Except for their wives or what their right hands possess, then indeed, they are not blameworthy;
23:7
And whoever seeks beyond that, then those, they are the transgressors.
23:8
And those who they are observers of their trusts and their covenant,
23:9
And those who they guard over their prayers.
23:10
Those, they are the inheritors,
23:11
The ones who will inherit Al Firdaus; they will dwell forever in it.
23:12
And surely, certainly We created man from an extract of clay;
23:13
Then We placed him, a sperm, in an established resting-place;
23:14
Then We created the sperm a clot, then We created the clot an embryo, then We created the embryo bones, then We clothed the bones flesh, then We produced it another creation. So blessed is God, the best of creators.
23:15
Then indeed, you after that surely die;
23:16
Then indeed, you will be raised on the Day of Resurrection.
23:17
And surely, certainly We created above you seven ways; and We are not heedless of the creation.
23:18
And We sent down water from the heaven by measure, then We lodged it in the earth; and indeed, We are surely able upon taking it away.
23:19
Then We produced gardens of palms and grapes with it for you; for you in them many fruits and of them you eat.
23:20
And a tree coming forth from Mount Sinai, it grows the oil and dye for those who eat.
23:21
And indeed, there is surely a lesson for you in the cattle; We give you to drink from what is in their bellies; and there are many benefits for you in them, and of them you eat,
23:22
And upon them and upon the ships you are carried.
23:23
And surely, certainly We sent Noah to his people, then he said, 'O my people! Serve God, there is no god other than Him for you; so will you not fear?'
23:24
Then the chiefs, those who disbelieved among his people said, 'This is not except a mortal like you, he desires to set himself above you, and had God willed, surely He would have sent down angels; we heard not of this among our forefathers, the former people.
23:25
He is not except a man, there is madness in him; so wait until a time for him.'
23:26
He said, 'My Lord! Help me because they called me a liar.'
23:27
Then We inspired to him saying, 'Make the ship in Our eyes and Our inspiration; then when Our command comes and the oven gushes forth, then insert in it of each two kinds, and your family, except those against whom the speech of them has preceded; and do not address Me concerning those who did wrong, indeed, they will be drowned.
23:28
Then when you are settled, you and those who are with you on the ship, then say, "Praise be to God, the one who saved us from the wrongdoing people."
23:29
And say, "My Lord! Make me to alight, a blessed alighting-place, and you are the best of those who make to alight."'
23:30
Indeed, in that surely are signs, and indeed, We are surely testing.
23:31
Then We produced a generation after them, others.
23:32
Then We sent among them a messenger from them saying, 'Serve God, there is no god for you other than Him; so will you not fear?'
23:33
And the chiefs of his people, those who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and We had surrounded them with luxury in the worldly life, said, 'This is not except a mortal like you, he eats of that which you eat of, and he drinks of what you drink.
23:34
And surely if you obey a mortal like you, indeed, you then surely will be losers.
23:35
Does he promise you that when you die and you become dust and bones, that you will be brought forth?
23:36
Wrong! To what you are promised.
23:37
It is not except our worldly life, we die and we live, and we will not be raised.
23:38
He is not except a man, he has forged a lie against God, and we will not believe him.'
23:39
He said, 'My Lord! Help me because they called me a liar.'
23:40
He said, 'Soon they will surely, definitely become repentant.'
23:41
Then the noise with the truth seized them; then We made them scum. So away with the wrongdoing people.
23:42
Then We produced generations after them, others.
23:43
No nation can precede its term and they cannot delay.
23:44
Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Everytime its messenger came to a nation they called him a liar, then We made some of them follow some; and We made them stories; so away with people who do not believe.
23:45
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority
23:46
To Pharaoh and his chiefs, then they were proud and they were haughty people.
23:47
Then they said, 'Shall we believe two mortals like us, and their people are for us servants?'
23:48
Then they called both of them liars, then they were among those who were destroyed.
23:49
And surely, certainly We gave Moses the Book, perhaps they may be guided.
23:50
And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign; and We sheltered both of them at a hill, a possessor of settledness and a flowing spring.
23:51
O messengers! Eat of the good things and do right; indeed, I know what you do.
23:52
And indeed, this your nation is one nation, and I am your Lord, so fear Me.
23:53
Then they cut up their affair between them, scriptures, each party in what they have, rejoicing.
23:54
So leave them in their flood until a time.
23:55
Do they think that what We provide them with of wealth and children,
23:56
We hasten to them in the good things? Nay, they do not perceive.
23:57
Indeed, those who they are apprehensive from the fear of their Lord,
23:58
And those who they, they believe in the signs of their Lord,
23:59
And those who they, they do not associate partners with their Lord,
23:60
And those who give what they gave while their hearts are fearful that they will return to their Lord,
23:61
Those, they hasten in the good deeds and they for them are foremost.
23:62
And We do not task a soul except its capacity; and with Us is a Book, it speaks with the truth, and they will not be wronged.
23:63
Nay, their hearts are in a flood from this, and for them are works besides that, they for them are doers.
23:64
Until when We seize their affluent ones with the punishment; behold, they, they supplicate.
23:65
Do not supplicate today, indeed you, you will not be saved from Us.
23:66
Certainly My signs were recited to you, then you used to turn back on your heels,
23:67
Proudly with it, entertainer, talking nonsense.
23:68
So did they not ponder the speech, or what did not come to their forefathers, the former people, came to them?
23:69
Or did they not recognise their messenger, so they deny him?
23:70
Or do they say, 'There is madness in him.’? Nay, he came to them with the truth, and most of them are averse to the truth.
23:71
And had the truth followed their lusts, surely the heavens and the earth and those who are in them would have been corrupted. Nay, We came to them with their reminder, then they, from their reminder, are turning away.
23:72
Or do you ask them for expenses? Then the tribute of your Lord is better, and He is the best of providers.
23:73
And indeed, you surely call them to a straight way;
23:74
And indeed, those who do not believe in the hereafter are surely deviating from the way.
23:75
And had We had compassion on them and We removed what is with them of harm, surely they would persist in their immoderation wandering about.
23:76
And surely, certainly We seized them with the punishment, then they do not submit to their Lord and they do not humble themselves;
23:77
Until when We opened a gate, a possessor of severe punishment, on them, behold, they despair in it.
23:78
And He is the one who produced for you the hearing and the eyes and the hearts; little is what you give thanks.
23:79
And He is the one who dispersed you in the earth and to Him you will be gathered.
23:80
And He is the one who gives life and causes death; and for Him is the difference of the night and the day; so will you not become intelligent?
23:81
Nay, they said like what the former people said.
23:82
They said, 'When we die and we become dust and bones? Will we indeed, surely be raised?
23:83
Surely, certainly we have been promised this before, we and our forefathers. This is not except legends of the former people.'
23:84
Say, 'For whom is the earth and whoever is in it, if you know?'
23:85
Soon they will say, 'For God.' Say, 'So will you not remember?'
23:86
Say, 'Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the great throne?'
23:87
Soon they will say, 'For God.' Say, 'So will you not fear?'
23:88
Say, 'In whose hand is the kingdom of everything and He protects and none can be protected against Him, if you know?'
23:89
Soon they will say, 'For God.' Say, 'So how are you bewitched?'
23:90
Nay, We came to them with the truth, and indeed, they are surely liars.
23:91
God took no son and there is no god with Him; then surely each god would have taken away what it created, and some of them surely would have exalted themselves against some. Glory be to God from what they describe.
23:92
The knower of the unseen and the seen, so exalted is He from what they associate.
23:93
Say, 'My Lord! If You definitely show me what they are promised,
23:94
My Lord! Then do not place me among the wrongdoing people.'
23:95
And indeed, We are surely able upon that We show you what We promise them.
23:96
Repel the evil deed with that which it is best. We know best what they describe.
23:97
And say, 'My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the taunts of the devils;
23:98
And I seek refuge with You, my Lord! Lest they be present with me.'
23:99
Until when death comes to one of them, he says, 'My Lord, send me back,
23:100
Perhaps I, I may do right in what I left behind.' Not so, indeed, it is a word, he speaks it; and behind them is a bar until the day they will be raised.
23:101
Then when the horn is blown in, then there will be no relationships between them on that day and they will not ask one another.
23:102
Then he whose scales are heavy, then those, they are the prosperous.
23:103
And he whose scales are light, then those are the ones who have lost their souls in Hell to dwell forever.
23:104
The fire will scorch their faces and they will be in it frowning.
23:105
Were My signs not recited to you, then you used to deny them?
23:106
They will say, 'Our Lord! Our unprosperousness overcame us, and we were people astray.
23:107
Our Lord! Take us out of it, then if we return, then indeed, we would be wrongdoers.'
23:108
He will say, 'Go away in it and do not speak to Me.
23:109
Indeed he, a party of My servants, they said, "Our Lord! We have believed, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, and You are the best of the merciful ones."
23:110
Then you took them for a laughing-stock until they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them.
23:111
Indeed I, I have recompensed them today because they were patient, that they, they are the successful.'
23:112
He will say, 'You tarried how long in the earth, number of years?'
23:113
They will say, 'We tarried a day or part of a day, then ask those who count.'
23:114
He will say, 'You tarried not except a little, if only that you, you know.
23:115
So you thought that We only created you uselessly, and that you would not be returned to Us?'
23:116
So exalted is God, the King, the Truth. There is no god but He, the Lord of the noble throne.
23:117
And whoever calls upon another god with God, there is no proof for him of it, then his reckoning is only with his Lord; indeed he, the disbelievers, do not prosper.
23:118
And say, 'My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful ones.'
