7:1  Alif.Lam.Mim.Sad.
7:2  A book has been sent down to you, so do not let there be straitness in your breast from it, that you may warn with it, and a reminder for the believers.
7:3  Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord and do not follow patrons besides Him, little is what you remember.
7:4  And how many a town? We destroyed them, so Our punishment came to them by night or they are sleeping at midday;
7:5  Then their call when Our punishment came to them was not except that they said, 'Indeed, we were wrongdoers.'
7:6  So surely, We will definitely question those to whom it was sent, and surely, We will definitely question the messengers.
7:7  Then surely, We will definitely narrate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent.
7:8  The weighing on that day is the truth, then he whose scales are heavy, then those, they are the prosperous.
7:9  And he whose scales are light, then those are the ones who have lost their souls because they used to wrong Our signs.
7:10  And surely, certainly We established you in the earth and We made livelihoods for you in it, little is what you give thanks.
7:11  And surely, certainly We created you, then We fashioned you, then We said to the angels, 'Prostrate to Adam,' then they prostrated, except Iblis, he was not among those who prostrate.
7:12  He said, 'What prevented you that you do not prostrate when I commanded you?' He said, 'I am better than him, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay.'
7:13  He said, 'Then go down from it, so it is not for you to be proud in it, so go forth, indeed, you are among the little ones.'
7:14  He said, 'Give me respite until the day they are raised.'
7:15  He said, 'Indeed, you are among the respited.'
7:16  He said, 'So because You have caused me to err, surely I will definitely lie in wait for them on Your straight way;
7:17  Then surely, I will definitely come to them from before them and from behind them, and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them thankful.'
7:18  He said, 'Go forth from it, despised, expelled. Surely, whoever followed you among them, surely, I will definitely fill hell with you all together.
7:19  And O Adam! Dwell, you and your wife, in the garden, then eat from wherever you both will, and do not draw near this, the tree, then you both will be among the wrongdoers.'
7:20  Then the devil whispered to both of them to disclose to both of them what was hidden from both of them of their shame. And he said, 'Your Lord has not forbidden both of you from this, the tree, except lest you become two angels or you become of the immortals.'
7:21  And he swore to both of them, 'Indeed, I am for both of you surely among the sincere advisers.'
7:22  So he directed both of them with deception, then when they both tasted the tree, their shame became apparent to them, and they began to stitch on them some of the leaves of the garden. And their Lord called out to both of them, 'Did I not forbid both of you from this, the tree, and say to both of you, indeed, the devil is a clear enemy to both of you?'
7:23  They said, 'Our Lord! We have wronged our souls and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, surely, we will definitely be among the losers.'
7:24  He said, 'Go down, some of you an enemy to some; and for you in the earth is a place of settledness and provision until a time.'
7:25  He said, 'In it you will live and in it you will die and from it you will be brought forth.'
7:26  O children of Adam! Certainly, We have sent down to you a garment, it hides your shame, and clothes; and the garment of piety, that is best. That is among the signs of God, perhaps they may remember.
7:27  O children of Adam! Definitely do not let the devil tempt you as he drove your two parents forth from the garden, taking off from both of them their garment to show them their shame; indeed he, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them. Indeed We, We have made the devils patrons for those who do not believe.
7:28  And when they do an immorality they say, 'We found our forefathers upon it and God has commanded us with it.' Say, 'Indeed, God does not command immorality. Do you say against God what you do not know?'
7:29  Say, 'My Lord has commanded justice and set steadfastly your faces at every mosque and call on Him, sincere to Him in the religion. As He originated you, you will you return.’
7:30  A party He guided and a party, due upon them is error; indeed they, they took the devils as patrons besides God, and they think that they are guided.
7:31  O children of Adam! Take your adornment at every mosque; and eat and drink, and do not be extravagant, indeed He, He does not love the extravagant.
7:32  Say, 'Who has forbidden the adornment of God which He brought forth for His servants, and the good things of the provision?' Say, 'They are for those who believed during the worldly life, exclusively, on the Day of Resurrection.' Thus We explain the signs in detail for people who know.
7:33  Say, 'My Lord has only forbidden the immoralities, what is apparent of them and what is hidden, and sin, and insolence without the right, and that you associate with God what He did not send down authority for, and that you say against God what you do not know.'
7:34  And for every nation a term, then when their term comes, they cannot put back an hour nor can they precede.
7:35  O children of Adam! If messengers definitely come to you from you, narrating to you My signs, then whoever feared and reformed, then no fear upon them and they, they will not grieve.
7:36  And those who called Our signs lies, and are proud towards them, those are the fellows of the fire, they will dwell forever in it.
7:37  So who is more unjust than one who forged a lie against God or called His signs lies? Those, their portion of the book will attain them, until when Our messengers come to them to cause them to die, they will say, 'Where is what you used to call on besides God?' They will say, 'They have gone astray from us;’ and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.
7:38  He will say, 'Enter in the fire among nations of the jinn and mankind, certainly, they passed away before you.' Whenever a nation enters, it will curse its sister until when they reach in it all together, another of them will say of the first of them, 'Our Lord! These caused us to go astray, so give them double punishment of the fire.' He will say, 'For each is double but you do not know.'
7:39  And the first of them will say to another of them, 'So you have no superiority over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn.'
7:40  Indeed, those who called Our signs lies and are proud towards them, the gates of the heaven will not be opened for them, and they will not enter the garden until the camel enters into the eye of the needle. And thus We recompense the sinners.
7:41  For them hell is a bed, and above them overwhelmings. And thus We recompense the wrongdoers.
7:42  And those who believed and did the good works, We do not task a soul except its capacity, those are the fellows of the garden, they will dwell forever in it.
7:43  And We will draw out what is in their breasts of rancour. The rivers will flow beneath them. And they will say, 'Praise be to God, the one who guided us to this, and we would not be guided if not that God guided us. Surely, certainly, the messengers of our Lord came with the truth.' And they will be called out to that, 'That is the garden, you were made to inherit it for what you used to do.'
7:44  And the fellows of the garden will call out to the fellows of the fire that, 'Certainly, we have found what our Lord promised us true, so have you found what your Lord promised true?' They will say, 'Yes.' Then an announcer among them will announce that, 'The curse of God is on the wrongdoers,
7:45  Those who hinder from the way of God and seek crookedness in it, and they, in the hereafter, are disbelievers.'
7:46  And between both of them is a veil. And on Al Aaraf are men who recognise all by their mark. And they will call out to the fellows of the garden that, 'Peace be on you.' They have not entered it and they, they hope.
7:47  And when their eyes are turned towards the fellows of the fire, they will say, 'Our Lord! Do not place us with the wrongdoing people.'
7:48  And the fellows of Al Aaraf will call out to men whom they recognise by their mark, they will say, 'Your collection and what you deemed great have not availed you.
7:49  Are these the ones who you swore God would not attain them with mercy? Enter the garden, no fear upon you and you, you will not grieve.'
7:50  And the fellows of the fire will call out to the fellows of the garden that, 'Pour over us some of the water or some of what God provided you.' They will say, 'Indeed, God has forbidden both of them to the disbelievers.’
7:51  Those who took their religion as diversion and play, and the worldly life deceived them. So today We forget them as they forgot the meeting of this their day, and they used to deny Our signs.
7:52  And surely, certainly We came to them with a book, We explained it in detail upon knowledge; guidance and mercy for people who believe.
7:53  Do they wait except for its interpretation? On the day its interpretation comes, those who forgot it before will say, 'Certainly, the messengers of our Lord came with the truth, so are there intercessors for us, so that they may intercede for us, or we are sent back, so that we may do other than that which we used to do?' Certainly, they will lose their souls, and what they used to forge will go astray from them.
7:54  Indeed, your Lord is God, the one who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then He settled on the throne. He covers the night with the day, it searches for it rapidly. And the sun and the moon and the stars are subjected by His command. Lo, for Him is the creation and the command. Blessed is God, the Lord of the worlds.
7:55  Call on your Lord humbly and secretly, indeed He, He does not love the transgressors.
7:56  And do not do evil in the earth after its reformation. And call on Him in fear and hope; indeed, the mercy of God is near to the good-doers.
7:57  And He is the one who sends the winds, glad tidings before His mercy, until when they carry heavy clouds, We drive it to a dead land, then We send down the water with it, then We bring forth with it of all the fruits; thus We bring forth the dead perhaps you may remember.
7:58  And the good land, its plants come forth with the permission of its Lord; and that which is bad comes forth not except with difficulty. Thus We turn about the signs for people who give thanks.
7:59  Surely, certainly We sent Noah to his people, then he said, 'O my people! Serve God, you have no god other than Him; indeed I, I fear for you the punishment of a great day.'
7:60  The chiefs among his people said, 'Indeed we, surely, we see you in clear error.'
7:61  He said, 'O my people! There is no error in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds.
7:62  I convey to you the messages of my Lord and I give you sincere advice and I know from God what you do not know.
7:63  And have you wondered that a reminder from your Lord has come to you, to a man among you, that he may warn you and that you may fear and perhaps you may obtain mercy?'
7:64  Then they called him a liar, then We saved him and those who were with him in the ship, and We drowned those who called Our signs lies, indeed, they were blind people.
7:65  And to 'Ad their brother Hud, he said, 'O my people! Serve God, you have no god other than Him, so will you not fear?'
7:66  The chiefs, those who disbelieved among his people, said, 'Indeed we, surely, we see you in foolishness, and indeed we, surely, we think you are among the liars.'
7:67  He said, 'O my people! There is no foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds.
7:68  I convey to you the messages of my Lord and I am a trustworthy, sincere adviser to you.
7:69  And have you wondered that a reminder from your Lord has come to you, to a man among you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and He increased you extensively in physical constitution, so remember the favours of God, perhaps you may prosper.'
7:70  They said, 'Have you come to us that we may serve God alone and leave what our forefathers used to serve? Then bring us what you threaten us with, if you are among the truthful.'
7:71  He said, 'Certainly, uncleanness and anger from your Lord have fallen on you. Do you dispute with me about names, which you have named, you and your forefathers? God has not sent down authority for them. So wait, indeed, I am with you among those who wait.'
7:72  Then We saved him and those who were with him, by mercy from Us, and We cut off the root of those who called Our signs lies and were not believers.'
7:73  And to Thamud their brother Salih, he said, 'O my people! Serve God, you have no god other than Him. Certainly, a clear proof has come to you from your Lord. This is the she-camel of God, a sign for you, so leave her to eat in the earth of God and do not touch her with evil, then a painful punishment will seize you.
7:74  And remember when He made you successors after 'Ad and settled you in the earth, you take palaces of its plains and you hew out the mountains as houses, so remember the favours of God, and do not do mischief in the earth, working corruption.'
7:75  The chiefs, those who were proud among his people, said to those who were deemed weak, to those who believed among them, 'Do you know that Salih is sent from his Lord?' They said, 'Indeed, we are believers in what he has been sent with.'
7:76  Those who were proud said, 'Indeed, we are disbelievers in that which you have believed in.'
7:77  Then they hamstrung the she-camel, and they were insolent towards the command of their Lord, and they said, 'O Salih! Bring us what you threaten us with, if you are among the messengers.'
7:78  Then the earthquake seized them, then they became prone in their home.
7:79  Then he turned away from them and he said, 'O my people! Surely, certainly I conveyed to you the message of my Lord and I gave sincere advice to you, but you do not love the sincere advisers.'
7:80  And Lot when he said to his people, 'Do you commit the immorality which no one from the worlds has preceded you in?
7:81  Indeed you, surely, you come to the men with desire other than the women. Nay, you are extravagant people.'
7:82  And the answer of his people was not except that they said, 'Drive them out of your town, indeed, they are people who cleanse themselves.'
7:83  Then We saved him and his family, except his wife, she was of those who tarry.
7:84  And We caused a rain to rain upon them. So see how the end of the sinners was.
7:85  And to Midian their brother Shuayb, he said, 'O my people! Serve God, you have no god other than Him. Certainly, a clear proof has come to you from your Lord. So give the measure to the full and the weight, and do not diminish the people their things, and do not do evil in the earth after its reformation. That is better for you if you are believers.
7:86  And do not lie in wait in every way threatening and hindering from the way of God whoever has believed in Him and seeking crookedness in it. And remember when you were few, then He multiplied you. And see how the end of the evil-doers was.
7:87  And if a party among you has believed in that which I have been sent with, and a party does not believe, then be patient until God judges between us, and He is the best of the judges.'
7:88  The chiefs, those who were proud among his people, said, 'We will surely, definitely drive you out, O Shuayb! And those who have believed with you, from our town or you will surely, definitely return to our religion.' He said, 'Even if we are averse?
7:89  Certainly, we would have forged a lie against God if we return to your religion after God saved us from it. And it is not for us to return to it except that God, our Lord wills. Our Lord has included everything in knowledge. On God we have relied. Our Lord! Judge between us and our people with the truth, and You are the best of the judges.'
7:90  And the chiefs, those who disbelieved among his people said, 'Surely, if you follow Shuayb, indeed, you then would surely be losers.'
7:91  Then the earthquake seized them, then they became prone in their home.
7:92  Those who called Shuayb a liar were as though they had not been rich in it. Those who called Shuaib a liar, they were the losers.
7:93  Then he turned away from them and he said, 'O my people! Surely, certainly I conveyed to you the messages of my Lord and I gave sincere advice to you, so how can I grieve over disbelieving people?’
7:94  And We sent not a prophet in a town except We seized its people with misery and distress, perhaps they might humble themselves.
7:95  Then We changed in place of the evil, the good until they became many and they said, 'Certainly, distress and prosperity touched our forefathers.' Then We seized them suddenly while they, they do not perceive.
7:96  And if that the people of the towns had believed and feared, surely We would have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they denied, so We seized them for what they used to earn.
7:97  So were the people of the towns secure from Our punishment coming to them by night while they sleep?
7:98  Or were the people of the towns secure from Our punishment coming to them at forenoon while they, they play?
7:99  So were they secure from the plot of God? So none is secure from the plot of God except the losing people.
7:100  And did it not guide those who inherit the land after its people that if We will, We could hit them for their sins and set a seal upon their hearts? Then they, they do not hear.
7:101  Those, the towns, We narrate to you some of their information. And surely, certainly their messengers came to them with the clear proofs, then they would not believe in what they called a lie before. Thus God sets a seal upon the hearts of the disbelievers.
7:102  And We found no covenant for most of them; and indeed, We found most of them surely disobedient.
7:103  Then We sent Moses after them with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, then they did them wrong, so see how the end of those who do evil was.
7:104  And Moses said, 'O Pharaoh! Indeed, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds,
7:105  Competent, upon that I do not say against God except the truth. Certainly, I have come to you with a clear proof from your Lord, so send the children of Israel with me.'
7:106  He said, 'If you have come with a sign, then bring it, if you are among the truthful.'
7:107  Then he threw down his staff, then behold, it was a clear snake;
7:108  And he drew out his hand, then behold, it was white to the beholders.
7:109  The chiefs among the people of Pharaoh said, 'Indeed, this is surely a knowing magician,
7:110  He desires to drive you out of your land, so what do you command?'
7:111  They said, 'Postpone him and his brother, and send gatherers in the cities,
7:112  They will come to you with every knowing magician.'
7:113  And the magicians came to Pharaoh. They said, 'Indeed there will surely be a reward for us if we are the overcomers.'
7:114  He said, 'Yes, and indeed, you will surely be among those who are brought near.'
7:115  They said, 'O Moses! Either that you throw or that we be the ones who throw.'
7:116  He said, 'Throw.' Then when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and they frightened them, and they came with great magic.
7:117  And We inspired to Moses that, 'Throw down your staff,' then behold, it swallows what they falsify.
7:118  Then the truth was determined and what they used to do was vain.
7:119  Then they were overcome there and they turned back as little ones.
7:120  And the magicians were thrown down prostrating.
7:121  They said, 'We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,
7:122  The Lord of Moses and Aaron.'
7:123  Pharaoh said, 'You believed in him before that I give permission to you. Indeed, this is surely a plot, you plotted it in the city to drive out its people from it, so soon you will know.
7:124  I will surely, definitely cut off your hands and your feet from opposite, then I will surely, definitely crucify you all together.'
7:125  They said, 'Indeed, we are returning to our Lord.
7:126  And you resent us not except that we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord! Pour patience on us and cause us to die as submitters.’
7:127  And the chiefs among the people of Pharaoh said, 'Will you leave Moses and his people to do evil in the earth and to leave you and your gods?' He said, 'Soon we will massacre their sons and we will let their women live, and indeed, we are subduers over them.'
7:128  Moses said to his people, 'Seek help with God and be patient; indeed, the earth is for God, He makes whom He wills among His servants inherit it, and the end is for those who fear.'
7:129  They said, 'We have been annoyed before that you came to us, and after you came to us.' He said, 'It may be, your Lord, that He will destroy your enemy, and He will appoint you as successors in the earth, then He will see how you do.'
7:130  And surely, certainly We seized the people of Pharaoh with the years and diminution of the fruits, perhaps they may remember.
7:131  Then when the good comes to them they say, 'This is for us;' and if evil befalls them, they regard Moses and whoever is with him as an evil omen. Lo, their omen is only with God, but most of them do not know.
7:132  And they said, 'Whatever sign you come to us with to bewitch us with it, so we will not believe you.'
7:133  Then We sent to them the flood and the locusts and the lice and the frogs and the blood, detailed signs, but then they were proud and were sinful people.
7:134  And when the plague befell them, they said, 'O Moses! Call on your Lord for us, because He has made a covenant with you. Surely, if you remove the plague from us, surely, we will definitely believe you, and surely, we will definitely send the children of Israel with you.'
7:135  Then when We removed the plague from them until a term which they should reach, behold, they break their covenant.
7:136  Then We took vengeance on them, then We drowned them in the sea, because they, they called Our signs lies and they were heedless of them.
7:137  And We made the people, those who were deemed weak, inherit the east of the land and the west of it, the one which We put blessing in it; and the word of your Lord was completed, the best for the children of Israel, because they were patient; and We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people were making and what they were erecting.
7:138  And We brought the children of Israel across the sea, then they came upon people who devote themselves to idols they had, they said, 'O Moses! Make a god for us like they have gods.' He said, 'Indeed, you are people who are ignorant.
7:139  Indeed these, destroyed is what they are in and vain is what they used to do.'
7:140  He said, 'Shall I seek a god for you other than God, while He gave preference to you over the worlds?'
7:141  And when We saved you from the people of Pharaoh, they were imposing the evil of punishment on you, massacring your sons and letting your women live; and in that was a great trial from your Lord.
7:142  And We made an appointment with Moses, thirty nights, and We completed them with ten, then the appointed time of his Lord was completed, forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, 'Substitute for me among my people and reform and do not follow the way of the evil-doers.'
7:143  And when Moses came to Our appointed time, and his Lord spoke to him, he said, 'My Lord! Show me, let me look at You.' He said, 'You will not see Me, but look at the mountain, then if it is stationary in its place, then soon you will see Me.' But then when his Lord became manifest to the mountain, He made it level ground, and Moses fell down in a swoon. Then when he recovered, he said, 'Glory be to You. I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers.'
7:144  He said, 'O Moses! Indeed I, I chose you over mankind with My messages and with My words, so take what I gave you and be among the thankful.'
7:145  And We wrote for him in the tablets an admonition of everything, and a detailed explanation for everything, 'So take them with strength and command your people to take the best of them. Soon I will show you the home of the disobedient.
7:146  Soon I will turn away from My signs those who are proud in the earth without the right; and if they see every sign they will not believe in it; and if they see the way of rectitude, they will not take it for a way; and if they see the way of error they will take it for a way. That is because they, they called Our signs lies and they were heedless of them.'
7:147  And those who called Our signs and the meeting of the hereafter lies, their works are void. Shall they be recompensed except for what they used to do?
7:148  And the people of Moses after him took of their trinkets a body, a calf, it had mooing; did they not see that it, it does not speak to them and it does not guide them to a way? They took it and they were wrongdoers.
7:149  And when they stood aghast, and they saw that they, certainly, they had gone astray, they said, 'Surely, if our Lord does not have mercy on us and forgive us, surely, we will definitely be among the losers.'
7:150  And when Moses returned to his people angry, grieved, he said, 'Evil is what you substituted for me after me. Would you hasten the command of your Lord? And he threw down the tablets and seized the head of his brother dragging him to him. He said, 'Son of a mother! Indeed, the people deemed me weak and they were about to kill me, so do not let the enemies rejoice over me, and do not place me with the wrongdoing people.'
7:151  He said, 'My Lord! Forgive me and my brother and make us enter into Your mercy, and You are the most merciful of the merciful.'
7:152  Indeed, those who took the calf, soon anger from their Lord and humiliation will attain them in the worldly life. And thus We recompense the forgers.
7:153  And those who did the evil deeds, then repented after them and believed, indeed, your Lord, after them, is surely forgiving, compassionate.
7:154  And when the anger abated from Moses, he took the tablets, and in their transcript is guidance and mercy for those who they, they fear their Lord.
7:155  And Moses chose his people, seventy men for Our appointed time. Then when the earthquake seized them he said, 'My Lord! If You had willed, You could have destroyed them before and me. Would You destroy us for what the fools amongst us did? It is not except Your trial, You cause whom You will to go astray with it and You guide whom You will. You are our patron, so forgive us and have mercy on us, and You are the best of those who forgive.
7:156  And write good for us in this, the world, and in the hereafter; indeed we, we have repented to You.' He said, 'My punishment, I hit with it whom I will, and My mercy has included everything; so soon I will write it for those who fear and give the alms and those who they, they believe in Our signs,
7:157  Those who follow the messenger, the illiterate prophet, the one whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Gospel. He bids them the good and he forbids them from the bad and he makes lawful for them the good things and he forbids them the bad things and he takes from them their burden and the fetters which were upon them. So those who believed in him and aided him and helped him and followed the light which was sent down with him, those, they are the prosperous.'
7:158  Say, 'O mankind! Indeed, I am the messenger of God to you all together, the one who for Him is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. There is no god but He. He gives life and He causes death.' So believe in God and His messenger, the illiterate prophet, the one who believes in God and His words, and follow him, perhaps you may be guided.
7:159  And among the people of Moses is a nation who guide with the truth, and with it they act equitably.
7:160  And We cut them up into twelve tribes, nations. And We inspired to Moses, when his people asked him for a drink, that, 'Strike the stone with your staff.' Then twelve springs gushed forth from it. Certainly, each people knew their drinking-place. And We shaded them with the clouds. And We sent down to them the manna and the quail, 'Eat of the good things of what We have provided you.' And they wronged Us not, but they used to wrong their souls.
7:161  And when it was said to them, 'Dwell in this, the town, and eat from it wherever you will, and say, “Relief,” and enter the gate prostrating. We will forgive you your sins, and soon We will give the good-doers more.'
7:162  Then those who did wrong among them substituted a speech other than that which was said to them. Then We sent a punishment from the heaven to them because they used to do wrong.
7:163  And ask them about the town, the one which was a metropolis of the sea, when they transgressed concerning the Sabbath. When their fish came to them on the day of their Sabbath visibly, and on the day they had no Sabbath, they came not to them. Thus We test them because they used to disobey.
7:164  And when a nation among them said, 'Why do you admonish people? God will destroy them or punish them, a severe punishment.' They said, 'An excuse to your Lord, and perhaps they may fear.'
7:165  Then when they forgot what they were reminded of, We saved those who forbade from the evil, and We seized those who did wrong with a wretched punishment because they used to disobey.
7:166  Then when they were insolent towards what they were forbidden from, We said to them, 'Be apes, spurned.'
7:167  And when your Lord announced, surely, He would definitely send those who would impose the evil of punishment on them to them until the Day of Resurrection; indeed, your Lord is surely the swift in punishment, and indeed, He is surely forgiving, compassionate.
7:168  And We cut them up in the earth, nations. Among them are the righteous and among them besides that. And We tested them with the good and the evil, perhaps they may return.
7:169  Then successors succeeded after them who inherited the book. They take the goods of this, the lower, and they say, 'Soon it will be forgiven us.' And if goods like it come to them they take it. Has a covenant of the book not been taken from them that they should not say against God except the truth? And they have studied what is in it. And the home of the hereafter is better for those who fear, so will you not become intelligent?
7:170  And those who hold fast the book and are steadfast in the prayer; indeed We, We do not waste the reward of the reformers.
7:171  And when We raised the mountain over them, as if it were a canopy, and they thought that it would fall on them, 'Take what We gave you with strength, and remember what is in it, perhaps you may fear.'
7:172  And when your Lord took from the children of Adam, from their backs, their offspring, and He called them to witness against themselves, 'Am I not your Lord?' They said, 'Yes, we have borne witness.' Lest you say on the Day of Resurrection, 'Indeed, we were heedless of this.'
7:173  Or you say, 'Only our forefathers associated partners before, and we are offspring after them; so will You destroy us for what the vain-doers did?'
7:174  And thus We explain the signs in detail; and perhaps they may return.
7:175  And recite to them the information of the one whom We gave Our signs, then he withdrew from them, then the devil followed him, then he was among those who err.
7:176  And if We had willed, surely, We could have raised him with them, but he inclined to the earth and he followed his lust. So his similitude is like the similitude of the dog, if you attack it, it lolls out its tongue, or if you leave it, it lolls out its tongue. That is the similitude of the people, those who called Our signs lies. So narrate the story, perhaps they may think.
7:177  Evil is the similitude of the people, those who called Our signs lies and used to wrong their souls.
7:178  Whoever God guides, then he is the guided; and whoever He causes to go astray, then those, they are the losers.
7:179  And surely, certainly We have dispersed for hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, and they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like the cattle, nay, they are more astray. Those, they are the heedless.
7:180  And for God are the best names, so call on Him with them. And leave those who deviate concerning His names. Soon they will be recompensed for what they used to do.
7:181  And among those who We created is a nation who guide with the truth, and with it they act equitably.
7:182  And those who called Our signs lies, soon We will bring them down by degrees from where they do not know.
7:183  And I will give respite to them. Indeed, My plot is strong.
7:184  And did they not think? There is no madness in their companion. He is not except a clear warner.
7:185  And did they not consider the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and what thing God created, and that it may be that certainly, their term has drawn near? So in what story after it will they believe?
7:186  Whoever God causes to go astray, then there is no guide for him. And He leaves them in their immoderation wandering about.
7:187  They ask you about the Hour, when is its anchoring? Say, 'Its knowledge is only with my Lord, none but He can reveal it to its time. It is heavy in the heavens and the earth. It will not come to you except suddenly.' They ask you as if you are informed of it. Say, 'Its knowledge is only with God.’ But most of mankind do not know.
7:188  Say, 'I do not control profit nor harm for my soul, except what God willed. And if I knew the unseen, surely, I would have had much of the good and the evil would not have touched me. I am not except a warner and an announcer of glad tidings for people who believe.'
7:189  He is the one who created you from one soul, and He made from it its mate that he may rely on her; then when he covered her she bore a light burden and she passed by with it; then when she became heavy they called on God, their Lord, 'Surely if You give us a righteous one, surely, we will definitely be among the thankful.'
7:190  Then when He gave them a righteous one they made partners for Him in what He gave them. But then exalted is God above what they associate.
7:191  Do they associate what does not create anything, while they, they are created?
7:192  And they are not able to help them and they cannot help themselves.
7:193  And if you call them to the guidance they will not follow you. Equal on you whether you called them or you are silent.
7:194  Indeed, those whom you call on besides God are servants, your similitudes. So call on them, then let them respond to you, if you are truthful.
7:195  Have they feet with which they walk, or have they hands with which they assault, or have they eyes with which they see, or have they ears with which they hear? Say, 'Call on your partners, then plot against me, then do not give me respite.
7:196  Indeed, my patron is God, the one who sent down the book, and He makes the righteous patrons.
7:197  And those who you call on besides Him are not able to help you, and they cannot help themselves.’
7:198  And if you call them to the guidance, they do not hear. And you see them looking at you, while they, they do not see.
7:199  Enjoin pardon and bid kindness and turn away from the ignorant.
7:200  And if an incitement from the devil definitely incites you, then seek refuge with God; indeed, He is hearing, knowing.
7:201  Indeed, those who feared, when an urge from the devil touches them, they remember, then behold, they see.
7:202  And their brothers, they extend them in error, then they do not desist.
7:203  And when you do not bring them a sign they say, 'If only you chose it?' Say, 'I only follow what is inspired to me from my Lord. These are insights from your Lord and guidance and mercy for people who believe.'
7:204  And when the Quran is read, then listen to it and listen, perhaps you may obtain mercy.
7:205  And remember your Lord in your soul humbly and in fear and with the exclusion of the loudness of the speech, in the early morning and the evening, and do not be among the heedless.
7:206  Indeed, those who are with your Lord are not proud towards His service, and they glorify Him, and to Him they prostrate.
