70:1  An asker asked about a punishment sure to come
70:2  for the deniers, that none can repel—
70:3  from Allah, Lord of the Ways of Ascent.
70:4  Unto Him the angels and the Spirit ascend on a day the duration of which is fifty thousand years.
70:5  So besg patient with beautiful patience.
70:6  Indeed, they see it distant,
70:7  but We see it near—
70:8  on the day when the sky is like molten brass,
70:9  and the mountains are like tufted wool,
70:10  and no intimate (friend) asks his intimate (friend)
70:11  though they are shown each other. The criminal wishes he could be redeemed from the punishment of that day by sacrificing his children
70:12  and his female companion and his brother
70:13  and his kinsfolk who shelter him
70:14  and everyone on earth, so it would then save him.
70:15  But no! It is a raging fire
70:16  that strips away the scalps,
70:17  inviting the one who had retreated and turned away
70:18  and accumulated (wealth) and hoarded.
70:19  Indeed, man was created fretful:
70:20  when touched by adversity he is impatient,
70:21  and when touched by good he is ungenerous;
70:22  except the prayerfulpl
70:23  who are constant at their prayers;
70:24  and those in whose wealth is a rightfully acknowledged share
70:25  for the asker and the deprived;
70:26  and those who believe in the Day of Recompense;
70:27  and those who fear the punishment of their Lord—
70:28  indeed, none can feel secure from their Lord’s punishment;
70:29  and those who preserve their private parts,
70:30  except from their spouses or those whom they rightfully possess—for then they are indeed not blameworthy.
70:31  But whoever seeks to go beyond that, then those are the transgressors;
70:32  and those who are faithful to their trusts and their covenant;
70:33  and those who stand by their testimonies;
70:34  and those who preserve their prayers—
70:35  those are honored in Gardens (of Paradise).
70:36  So what is with those who have denied, craning their necks towards yousg,
70:37  from the right and from the left, banding together?
70:38  Does every one of them ardently hope to be entered into a Garden of Bliss?
70:39  But no! Indeed, We created them from what they know.
70:40  So I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests that We are surely able
70:41  to replace them with better than them, and We cannot be outstripped.
70:42  So letsg them blunder and play until they meet their day which they are promised—
70:43  the day when they come out of the tombs in a rush, as though they are hurrying towards some statues,
70:44  their sight(s) (subdued) in reverence, humiliation overwhelming them. That is the day which they were promised.
