45:1  Ha.Mim.

45:2  A revelation of the Book from God, the Mighty, the Wise.

45:3  Indeed, in the heavens and the earth surely are signs for the believers;

45:4  And in your creation and what He dispersed of creature, are signs to a people who are sure;

45:5  And in the alternation of the night and the day, and what God sends down from the sky of provision and gives life thereby to the earth after its death, and in the veering of the winds are signs for a people who have sense.

45:6  Those are the signs of God We recite them to you in truth; and in what story after God and His signs will they believe?

45:7  Woe to every sinful liar

45:8  Who hears God's signs recited to him, then persists in pride as though he has not heard them - so give him the glad tidings of painful punishment -

45:9  And when he knows anything of Our signs, he takes it for a jest. Those, - for them is shameful punishment,

45:10  Behind them is Hell, and what they have earned shall not avail them anything, nor what they have taken beside God for patrons; and for them is great punishment.

45:11  This is a guidance, and those who disbelieve in the signs of their Lord, for them is punishment of a painful plague.

45:12  God is the one who subjects to you the sea that the ships may sail in it by His command, and that you may seek of His grace, and that perhaps you may give thanks.

45:13  And He has subjected to you what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, all together, from Him; indeed, in that surely are signs for a people who reflect.

45:14  Say to those who believe that they forgive those who hope not for God's days, that He may reward a people for what they used to earn.

45:15  Whoever did good works, then it is for his soul, and whoever did evil, then it is against it; then to your Lord you will be returned.

45:16  And certainly, We gave the children of Israel the Book and the judgment and the prophethood, and We provided them of good things, and We favoured them over the worlds.

45:17  And We gave them clear proofs of the affair, and they disagreed not except after the knowledge had come to them, through envy between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that in which they were disagreeing.

45:18  Then We set you over a law concerning the affair: follow it, and do not follow the desires of those who do not know.

45:19  Indeed, they shall not avail you against God at all; and indeed, the wrongdoers, some of them are patrons of some; but God is the patron of those who fear.

45:20  This is an insight for mankind and a guidance and a mercy to a people who are sure.

45:21  Or do those who commit evil deeds think that We will make them like those who believe and do good works, equal in their life and their death? - Evil is what they judge.

45:22  And God created the heavens and the earth in truth; and that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they shall not be wronged.

45:23  Have you considered him who takes his desire for his god, and God leads him astray upon knowledge, and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart, and has placed upon his sight a covering? Who then shall guide him after God? Then will you not remember?

45:24  And they say, 'It is only our worldly life, We die and we live, and nothing destroys us but time.' But they have no knowledge of that; they do not except guess.

45:25  And when Our signs are recited to them, clear proofs, their argument is not except that they say, 'Bring Our fathers, if you are truthful.'

45:26  Say, 'God gives you life, then makes you die, then He will gather you to the Day of Resurrection, there is no doubt in it; but most of mankind do not know.'

45:27  And God's is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and the day the Hour will stand, on that day the vain-doers will lose.

45:28  And you shall see each nation kneeling, each nation summoned to its book, 'Today you are rewarded for what you have done.'

45:29  This Our Book speaks to you with truth; indeed, We used to transcribe what you used to do.

45:30  Then as for those who believed and did good works, then their Lord will make them enter into His mercy; that - it is the clear success.

45:31  And as for those who disbelieved, - then were My signs not recited to you and you were proud and you were a sinful people?

45:32  And when it was said, 'Indeed, the promise of God is true, and the Hour there is no doubt therein;' You said, 'We do not know what the Hour is, we think not except guess, and we are not sure.'

45:33  And the evils of what they did will appear to them, and they will be encompassed by what they used to mock at.

45:34  And it shall be said, 'Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this day of yours, and your habitation is the fire, and you shall have no helpers.

45:35  That is because you took the signs of God for a jest and the worldly life deceived you.' So today they shall not be brought forth from it, nor will they be taken back into favour.

45:36  God's then is the praise, the Lord of the heavens and the Lord of the earth, the Lord of the worlds.

45:37  And His is the greatness in the heavens and the earth, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
