46:1  Haa’. Me’im!
46:2  The Revelation Knowledge of the Qur’ān is from Allâh, the Almighty, the All-Wise.
46:3  And We created the heavens and earth and whatsoever is between them only for a genuine reason and an appointed time. Yet those who persistently refuse to yield to the Truth turn away from that whereof they have been warned.
46:4  Say: ”Have you considered what you invoke, other than Allâh? Show me what they have created of the earth. Or do they have a share in the creation of heavens. Bring me a book before this (Qur’ān), or some trace of knowledge if you are truthful!"
46:5  And who is more greatly deceived (into going away from the Truth) than one who invokes, other than Allâh, such as would not respond to him even until the Day of Resurrection and who are totally unaware of their supplication?
46:6  And when the people are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), such (fabled gods) will become their enemies. And they will repudiate their (meaningless) worship.
46:7  And when Our Verses are recited to them as conclusive evidence, those who persistently refuse to yield to the Truth speak thus of the truth immediately after it is revealed to them: "This is clearly nothing but Magical Rhetoric."
46:8  Or do they say: “He has fabricated it?” Say: “If it happens that I have fabricated it, still you will have no power to save me from (the wrath of) Allâh. He has full knowledge of whatever you say about It among yourselves. Sufficient is He as Witness between you and me. He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful."
46:9  Say: “I am not a novelty among the Messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow what is revealed to me. And my mission is only to give clear warning (about how to avoid Hellfire)."
46:10  Say: "Have you thought of the dire consequences of your persistent and purposeful denial of the Qur’ān since it is from Allâh? Nevertheless, a witness from the Children of Israel has already testified to the like thereof. So he acknowledged the Truth, whereas you displayed an arrogant attitude (towards Qur’ān).” Surely Allâh holds back the Light of His inspiration from a people who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims.
46:11  And those who persistently refuse to yield to the Truth said about those who Adhere to Faith: "If it had been good, then they would not have preceded us to it." Since they are not guided thereby, they say: “This is an ancient falsification."
46:12  Before it was the Scripture of Moses a True Source of Enlightenment and Mercy. This Qur’ān is the Book confirming It in an Arabic tongue to warn those who do wrong, and to announce the glad tidings (of how to attain eternal salvation) to those who pursue righteousness and perfection in Faith.
46:13  Verily those who say: "Our Lord is Allâh", and then behave uprightly and religiously, there will come no fear upon them, neither will they ever grieve.
46:14  Those are the Denizens of Al-Jannah, abiding therein: a recompense for what they used to do.
46:15  And We have enjoined on man to show kindness and dutifulness to his parents. His mother bears him with great exertion and brings him forth with great exertion. The bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months, till when he attained full strength and reaches forty years, he says: "My Lord, grant me the strength so that I may be thankful for Your Favor which You have bestowed upon me and my parents, and that I may do righteous deeds which please You. And make my offspring to be virtuous ones. I have truly turned to You in repentance. And truly, I am one of the those who surrender (themselves completely to Your authority).
46:16  Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they do, and will overlook their evil deeds. They will be among the Denizens of Al-Jannah. This is the promise of truth which was made to them.
46:17  Yet there is one who says: "Fie upon you both! Do you threaten me that I shall be raised up, when already generations have passed away before me?”. They both cry unto Allâh for help and say to their child: "Woe betide you! Put your Faith in Allâh! Most surely the promise of Allâh is true." But he says: “This is nothing but myths of the ancients."
46:18  Those are the ones against whom the Word proves true among the previous generations of the jinn and mankind which have passed away before them. Verily they are the ones who are doomed to perdition.
46:19  For all, there will be degrees according to what they have done so that He may recompense them in full for their deeds. And they will not be treated unfairly.
46:20  The day when those who persistently refuse to yield to the Truth are exposed to the Fire, (will be told): "You squandered your good things in your worldly life, which you enjoyed wasting. Today, you are going to be recompensed with the chastisement of humiliation because you used to show an arrogant attitude in the land without a good reason, and because you used to indulge in personal disobedience extensively without repentance.
46:21  And recall (Hūd), the brother of ‘Ād, when he warned his people (in the valley of) Ahqāf - indeed, there were so many warnings were delivered before him and after him- saying: "Worship (& venerate) none but Allâh. I truly fear for you the retribution of a disastrous day."
46:22  They said: “What! Did you come to make us renounce our gods? so bring us that with which you threaten us if you are one of the truthful."
46:23  He said: “Indeed, the knowledge about this is with Allâh, and I only notify you for what I have been sent. But I can see that you are a people who have no knowledge (of God).”
46:24  Then, when they beheld it as a dense cloud approaching their valleys, they said: "This cloud will bring us rain." Nay, but it is that which you sought to hasten: a wind wherein is a painful chastisement
46:25  Devastating everything by the command of its Lord. Therefore, they became such that nothing could be seen, except for their homes. This is how We do chastise the Ungodly Sinners.
46:26  Verily We had established them (the people of‘Ād) with that wherewith We have not established you, (O’ clan of Quraysh). And We had given them ears, eyes and hearts, but neither their ears, nor their eyes, nor their hearts availed them because they used to act arrogantly and rudely toward Our Revelations. So they were encompassed by that which they used to scoff.
46:27  We have destroyed towns round about you. And We have constantly shown them Our Signs so that they may return to the truth and quit their perversion.
46:28  Then why did those whom they took for gods, other than Allâh, so as to bring them closer to Him, fail to help them? Nay, but they disappeared suddenly and completely from them (when the tribulation of Allâh came upon them). That was their calumny, and what they had been falsifying.
46:29  We directed a party of the jinn to you in order to listen to the Qur’ān. And when they attended the recitation, they said to each other: "Listen attentively!" As soon as the recitation was ended, they rushed backed to their clan, warning.
46:30  They said: "O’ our fellow jinn, we have heard a Book that was revealed after Moses. It substantiates that which is before it, guiding into a straight path.
46:31  O’ our fellow jinn, respond to the caller of Allâh and believe (in him). Allâh will deliver you from all the consequences of your iniquitous deeds and save you from a painful punishment.”
46:32  The one who does not resound to the Caller of Allâh cannot thwart (the will) of Allâh on earth, and there will be no guardians for him, other than Allâh. Such are in utter deception.
46:33  Do they not see that Allâh, Who created the heavens and earth, was not tired by their creation, is Most Capable of giving life to the dead? Indeed, He is Most Capable of doing whatsoever He wills.
46:34  And (mention) the day when those who persistently refuse to yield to the Truth will be exposed to the Fire, (they will be asked): "Is this not the truth?". They will say: "Yea, by our Lord!" He will say: "Then taste the chastisement as an outcome of your persistent and purposeful denial of the Truth.
46:35  Now, therefore, cling to patience as did the Messengers endowed with insistence and strength, and don’t seek to hasten for them (their doom). The day will come to pass when they see that (doom) with which they are promised as if they had not stayed more than an hour in a single day. Will then any be destroyed other than a people who indulge in personal disobedience extensively without repentance.
