58:1  Indeed, Allâh has heard the words of the woman who argued with you concerning her husband and complained to Allâh. He was listening to the contentions of both of you. Indeed, Allâh is All-Hearing, All-Seer.
58:2  Those of you who deliberately seek to estrange their wives by declaring them to be as their mothers (should know) that their wives could never become their mothers. Their mothers are only those women who gave birth to them. The words they utter are evil words and falsehood. Indeed, Allâh is Oft- Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving.
58:3  Those who deliberately seek to estrange their wives by declaring them to be as their mothers, and then go back on that which they said, they should free a captive before they touch each other. That is what you are admonished thereby. Allâh is All-Aware of all what you do.
58:4  However, the one who can not find (a slave to free) must fast for two consecutive months before they touch each other. In case he can not fast, then he should feed sixty needy ones. This is the command of Allâh, so that you may have perfect trust in Allâh and His ‘Messenger’. These are the limits (i.e laws and rules) set by Allâh. Those who persist in disbelief (in Allâh) will be subjected to a painful punishment.
58:5  Verily, those who oppose Allâh and His ‘Messenger’ will be humiliated and perished, just as those before them. Verily We sent down intelligible revelations, and Those who persist in disbelief (in Allâh) will be subjected to a disgraceful chastisement.
58:6  The day will come when Allâh resurrects them all, then inform them of what they used to do. Allâh has enumerated every deed, while they have forgotten it. Allâh is Witness over all things.
58:7  Have you not seen that Allâh knows best whatever is in the heavens, and whatever is on the earth? There is no secret conversation of three but He is their fourth, nor of five but He is their sixth, nor of less than that or more but He is (always) with them wherever they might be. Then He will inform them of all what they did on the ‘Day of Resurrection’. Indeed, Allâh is Fully Aware of all things.
58:8  Have you not seen those who were forbidden to plot evil plans and afterward returned to that which they had been forbidden? They conspire to commit sins, transgression, and disobeying the ‘Messenger’. When they come to you, they greet you with a greeting with which Allâh greets you not, saying within themselves: ”Why should Allâh punish us for what we say?” ‘Hellfire’ will be sufficient for them, where they will burn in it. Dreadful is the abode!
58:9  O’ you who adhere firmly to Islamic monotheism, when you collaborate secretly, collaborate not for the purpose of committing sins or transgression or disobedience to the ‘Messenger’, but collaborate for righteousness and piety, and act piously towards Allâh, to Whom you are destined to be gathered.
58:10  Engaging in plots and intrigues is inspired by the devil in order to cause sorrow to the those who adhere firmly to Islamic monotheism, but he cannot harm them at all, except with the permission of Allâh. Thus, let those who adhere firmly to Islamic monotheism rely on Allâh with full trust.
58:11  O’ you who adhere firmly to Islamic monotheism, if it happens that you were asked to make room in the assemblies, then you should do so. Allâh will give you ample. If it happens that you were asked to get up and move, then you should do so. Allâh will exalt in degree those of you who adhere firmly to Islamic monotheism and those who are given the spiritual gift of knowledge. Allâh is Well-Aware of all what you do.
58:12  O’ you who adhere firmly to Islamic monotheism, when you want to consult privately the ‘Messenger’, offer an alms before your consultation. That is better for you and purer. However, if it happens that you do not find anything to give, (then be sure) Allâh is indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
58:13  Were you afraid that offering alms before your consultation would make you poor? Even though you did not offer any alms, Allâh would forgive you for that. Thus, establish the regular Prayer, pay Zakāt (i.e. the Prescribed Purifying Alms and obey Allâh and His ‘Messenger’. Allâh is Well-Aware of all what you do.
58:14  Have you not seen those ‘Hypocrites’ who take for friends a folk of people whom the wrath of Allâh abides in them? They are neither of you nor of them. They swear falsely while they know.
58:15  Allâh has prepared for them a vehement chastisement. Dreadful, indeed, is that which they used to do.
58:16  They used their oaths as a cover to hinder the people from the path of Allâh. For them, therefore, will be a disgraceful chastisement.
58:17  Neither their wealth, nor their children will avail them naught against ( the chastisement of) Allâh. They are the ‘Denizens of the Fire’, where they will abide therein.
58:18  On the ‘Day’ when Allâh will resurrect them all, then they will swear to Him as they swear to you, thinking that they have a cause. They are, indeed, the liars.
58:19  The devil has overwhelmed them and has made them forget the to celebrate the praises of Allâh. They are (the members) of devil’s party. Indeed, (the members of) the devil’s party are the sons of eternal perdition.
58:20  Those who oppose Allâh and His Messenger will be among the most humiliated.
58:21  Allâh has decreed: "Indeed, it is I and My Messengers, who will be the triumphant." Indeed, Allâh is All-Strong, All-Mighty.
58:22  You will not find people who believe in Allâh and in the Last Day being in love with those who oppose Allâh and His ‘Messenger’, even though they be their fathers or their sons or their brethren or their clan. For these, He has firmly established Faith in their hearts, and has strengthened them with a Spirit from Himself. He will admit them into gardens underneath which rivers flow, where they will abide therein. Allâh is well pleased with them, and they are well pleased with Him. These are the (members of) Allâh’s party. Definitely, (the members of) the Allâh’s party are the ones who will ultimately achieve a blissful life/ or gain eternal salvation.
