66:1  O Prophet, why do you forbid what God permitted for you, seeking to please your wives? God is Forgiving and Merciful.
66:2  God has prescribed for you an absolution from your oaths. God is your Protector, and He is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
66:3  The Prophet confided a matter to one of his wives, but when she disclosed it, and God made it known to him, he shared some of it and overlooked some. When he informed her about it, she asked, “Who told you this?” He replied, “The All-Knowing, the All-Aware informed me.”
66:4  If you two repent to God, then your hearts have inclined. However, if you collaborate against him, God is his Ally, as are Gabriel and the righteous believers. Additionally, the angels are his supporters.
66:5  It may be that if he divorces you, his Lord will give him in exchange wives better than you—submissive, faithful, obedient, penitent, dedicated to worship and fasting—widows or virgins.
66:6  O you who believe, safeguard yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is humans and stones, supervised by harsh and stern angels who never disobey God’s commands and carry out whatever they are commanded.
66:7  O you who have disbelieved, make no excuses today. You are only being repaid for what you used to do.
66:8  O you who believe, repent to God with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remit your sins and admit you into Gardens through which rivers flow. On that Day, God won’t disappoint the Prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will proceed before them, and on their right, they will say, “Our Lord, perfect our light for us and forgive us. You are over all things competent.”
66:9  O Prophet, strive against the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and be firm with them. Their abode is Hell—what a wretched destination.
66:10  God presents an example for those who disbelieve: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were under two of our righteous servants, but they betrayed them. Consequently, they couldn’t avail them against God in any way, and it was said, “Enter the Fire along with those who enter.”
66:11  And God presents an example for those who believe: the wife of Pharaoh, when she said, “My Lord, build for me in your presence a house in Paradise, and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds, and save me from the oppressive people.”
66:12  And Mary, the daughter of Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her of Our Spirit. She believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures, and she was devoutly obedient.
