49:1  O you who believe! Do not go ahead of Allah and His messenger and revere Allah. Truly Allah is All-hearing, All-knowing.
49:2  O you who believe! Do not raise your voices above the voice of the prophet and do not speak to him in a loud tone in a manner in which you speak loud to one another lest your deeds come to a naught while you are not aware.
49:3  Truly those who lower their voices in the presence of the messenger of Allah those are the ones whose hearts Allah has well tried for self-guard. For them is forgiveness and a magnificent reward.
49:4  Truly those who call out to you from behind the chambers, most of them do not understand.
49:5  If only they had patience until you had come out to them, it would have been better for them and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
49:6  O you who believe! If a renegade comes to you with a news, then do investigate lest you harm a people out of ignorance and then you become regretful about that which you had done.
49:7  And know that among you is the messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in many of the matters, you will certainly become stubborn but Allah has caused you to love the faith and has adorned it [the faith] in your hearts and He caused you to abhor the disbelief and the renegation and the disobedience. Those are the ones who are well-guided [to the way].
49:8  A favor from Allah and a grace and Allah is All-knowing, All-wise.
49:9  And when two groups from the believers fight among themselves then reconcile between them and if one of the two is belligerent against the other then fight against the one who is belligerent until it turns back [complies] to the commandment of Allah. But when it does turn back, then reconcile between them in justice and be upright. Truly Allah loves those who are upright.
49:10  The believers are but brothers so reconcile between your two brothers and revere Allah so that perhaps you may receive mercy.
49:11  O you who believe! Let not some men despise other men for perhaps they may be better than them and let not some women despise other women perhaps they may be better than them and do not stigmatize one another and do not call one another with sobriquets. Worst name is renegation after the faith and whosoever does not turn in repentance to Allah truly those are the ones who wrong their own souls.
49:12  O you who believe! Keep away from much of the suspicion truly some of the suspicion is a sin and do not spy on and do not backbite one another. Would any of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You do abhor it so revere Allah. Truly Allah is Acceptor of repentance, Most Merciful.
49:13  O you the mankind! Truly We have created you from a male and a female and We have made you into nations and tribes so that you may recognize one another. Truly the most graceful among you in the sight of Allah is one who reveres Him the most. Truly Allah is All-knowing, All-acquainted.
49:14  The desert Arabs said, “We believe.” Say, “You have not believed [in truth] but you just say, ‘We have submitted ourselves’ but the faith has not yet entered into your hearts.” And if you obey Allah and His messenger, He will not cheat you of anything from your deeds. Truly Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
49:15  The believers are only those who believe in Allah and in His messenger and then they did not doubt and they strove with their property and their lives in the way of Allah. Those are the truthful ones.
49:16  Say, “Will you inform Allah about your religion? While Allah it is He who knows all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth.” and Allah is All-knowing about everything.
49:17  They count it a favor on you that they have entered Islam. Say, “Do not count your embracing of Islam as a favor on me. Rather it is Allah who counts as a favor to you that He guided you to the faith if you were truthful.”
49:18  Truly Allah knows the unseen of the heavens and of the earth and Allah is All-seeing about all that you do.
