AYAH as-Sajdah 32:21

Arabic وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنَ الْعَذَابِ الْأَدْنَىٰ دُونَ الْعَذَابِ الْأَكْبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ zoom
Transliteration Walanutheeqannahum mina alAAathabi al-adna doona alAAathabi al-akbari laAAallahum yarjiAAoona zoom
Transliteration-2 walanudhīqannahum mina l-ʿadhābi l-adnā dūna l-ʿadhābi l-akbari laʿallahum yarjiʿūna zoom

 And surely, We will let them of the punishment the nearer before the punishment the greater, so that they may return. zoom


Generally Accepted Translations of the Meaning
Muhammad Asad However, ere [We condemn them to] that supreme suffering, We shall most certainly let them taste of a suffering closer at hand, so that they might [repent and] mend their ways. zoom
M. M. Pickthall And verily We make them taste the lower punishment before the greater, that haply they may return. zoom
