AYAH al-Baqarah 2:225

Arabic لَّا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللَّهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَاخِذُكُم بِمَا كَسَبَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ zoom
Transliteration La yu-akhithukumu Allahu biallaghwi fee aymanikum walakin yu-akhithukum bima kasabat quloobukum waAllahu ghafoorun haleemun zoom
Transliteration-2 lā yuākhidhukumu l-lahu bil-laghwi fī aymānikum walākin yuākhidhukum bimā kasabat qulūbukum wal-lahu ghafūrun ḥalīmun zoom
Literal

 Not will take you to task Allah for (what is) unintentional in your oaths, [and] but He takes you to task for what (have) earned your hearts. And Allah (is) Oft-Forgiving, Most Forbearing. zoom


Generally Accepted Translations of the Meaning
Muhammad Asad God will not take you to task for oaths which you may have uttered without thought, but will take you to task [only] for what your hearts have conceived [in earnest]: for God is much-forgiving, forbearing. zoom
