He is doing it because he loves you. When a father loves his son very much, he warns him when he does something wrong.

The Lord punishes everyone He loves. He whips every son He receives.

Because the Eternal proves His love by caring enough to discipline you, just as a father does his child, his pride and joy.

Young man, do not resent it when God chastens and corrects you, for his punishment is proof of his love. Just as a father punishes a son he delights in to make him better, so the Lord corrects you.

Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over. But don’t, dear friend, resent God’s discipline; don’t sulk under his loving correction. It’s the child he loves that God corrects; a father’s delight is behind all this.
