‘Canaan is my gift to you, to belong to you for ever. When you go into that land, I may put a disease called mildew in a house there.

God spoke to Moses and Aaron: “When you enter the land of Canaan, which I’m giving to you as a possession, and I put a serious fungus in a house in the land of your possession, the householder is to go and tell the priest, ‘I have some kind of fungus in my house.’ The priest is to order the house vacated until he can come to examine the fungus, so that nothing in the house is declared unclean. When the priest comes and examines the house, if the fungus on the walls of the house has greenish or rusty swelling that appears to go deeper than the surface of the wall, the priest is to walk out the door and shut the house up for seven days. On the seventh day he is to come back and conduct another examination; if the fungus has spread in the walls of the house, he is to order that the stones affected by the fungus be torn out and thrown in a garbage dump outside the city. He is to make sure the entire inside of the house is scraped and the plaster that is removed be taken away to the garbage dump outside the city. Then he is to replace the stones and replaster the house.

the following regulations about houses affected by spreading mildew. (These were to apply after the people of Israel entered the land of Canaan, which the Lord was going to give them as their possession.) If any of you find that the Lord has sent mildew on your house, then you must go and tell the priest about it.

When ye have entered into the land of Canaan, which I shall give to you into possession, if the wound of leprosy is in the houses, (When ye have entered into the land of Canaan, which I shall give to you for a possession, if there is a plague of leprosy in a house,)

After I have given you the land of Canaan as your permanent possession, here is what you must do, if I ever put mildew on the walls of any of your homes.

“When you come into the land of Canaan, which I give you for a possession, and I put a leprous disease in a house in the land of your possession,

When you come into the land of Canaan, which I am giving you to possess, if I put a fungal infection in any house of the land you occupy,

“I am giving the land of Canaan to your people. When they enter that land [L of your possession], if I cause ·mildew [or mold; 13:47] to grow in someone’s house in that land [L of your possession],

“Suppose you have come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put a mark of tza’arat in a house in the land you possess.

“When you come into the land of Canaan, which I give you for a possession, and I put a leprous disease in a house in the land of your possession,

“You will enter the land of Canaan. I am giving it to you as your own. When you enter it, suppose I put mold in one of your houses. And suppose the mold spreads.

“When you have entered the land of Kena‘an which I am giving you as a possession, and I put an infection of tzara‘at in a house in the land that you possess,

When ye be come into Eretz Kena’an, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the nega tzara’at in a bais of the eretz of your possession;

“When you come to Canaan that I am going to give to you, mildew may appear in a house.

“I am giving the land of Canaan to your people. Your people will enter that land. At that time I might cause mildew to grow in someone’s house.
