So I was afraid, dug a hole, and hid the talent in the ground. Here it is. You can have it.
“Then the man with the $1,000 came and said, ‘Sir, I knew you were a hard man, and I was afraid you would rob me of what I earned, so I hid your money in the earth and here it is!’
Therefore, out of fear I went off and hid your talent in the ground. Behold, I give it back to you.’
And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’

so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’
“Then the man who had received the one thousand pounds came in and said, ‘Sir, I always knew you were a hard man, reaping where you never sowed and collecting where you never laid out—so I was scared and I went off and hid your thousand pounds in the ground. Here is your money, intact.’
so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’
so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.”
So I was afraid. And I hid my valuable coin in the ground. Here, you have what’s yours.’
So I was afraid [to lose the talent], and I went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is your own.’

so out of fear I went off and buried your talent in the ground. Here it is back.’
And I was afraid, so I went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you still have what is yours.’
