| 96:1 | | Read in the name of your Lord who created! | | 96:2 | | [He] created the human from a clot of congealed blood. | | 96:3 | | Read! Your Lord is Most Bountiful. | | 96:4 | | He taught by the pen. | | 96:5 | | [He] taught the human what he/she did not know. | | 96:6 | | Alas! The human is bound to sin. | | 96:7 | | [Humanity] looks upon itself as independent. | | 96:8 | | Truly, to your Lord is the return. | | 96:9 | | Do you see anyone trying to prevent… | | 96:10 | | …a servant [of Allah] from praying? | | 96:11 | | Do you see whether he/she has guidance… | | 96:12 | | …and directs righteousness? | | 96:13 | | Do you see if he/she rejects and turns away? | | 96:14 | | Does he/she not know that Allah sees? | | 96:15 | | Let him/her beware! If he/she does not desist, We will drag him/her by the frontal lobes. | | 96:16 | | [They are] lying, sinful frontal lobes. | | 96:17 | | Then let him/her call to his/her associates. | | 96:18 | | We will call on the angels of punishment. | | 96:19 | | Beware! Do not obey him/her. Prostrate in adoration. Bring yourself closer [to Allah]. |
