| Arabic | | سَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا لَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مَا أَشْرَكْنَا وَلَا آبَاؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن شَيْءٍ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ ذَاقُوا بَأْسَنَا قُلْ هَلْ عِندَكُم مِّنْ عِلْمٍ فَتُخْرِجُوهُ لَنَا إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَخْرُصُون |  |

| anything." | shayin | شَيْءٍ | ش ى ء | |
| Likewise | kadhālika | كَذَلِكَ | ذ ل ك | |
| denied | kadhaba | كَذَّبَ | ك ذ ب | |
| those who | alladhīna | الَّذِينَ | ا ل ل ذ ى | |
| (were) before them | qablihim | قَبْلِهِمْ | ق ب ل | |
| they tasted | dhāqū | ذَاقُوا | ذ و ق | |
| Our wrath. | basanā | بَأْسَنَا | ب ا س | |
| with you | ʿindakum | عِنْدَكُمْ | ع ن د | |
| any knowledge | ʿil'min | عِلْمٍ | ع ل م | |
| then produce it | fatukh'rijūhu | فَتُخْرِجُوهُ | خ ر ج | |
| you follow | tattabiʿūna | تَتَّبِعُونَ | ت ب ع | |
| the assumption, | l-ẓana | الظَّنَّ | ظ ن ن | |
| guess." | takhruṣūna | تَخْرُصُونَ | خ ر ص | |
