Ali Bakhtiari Nejad rendition of Surah The Iron(al-Hadid)
---
57:1 Everything in the skies and the earth glorifies God, and He is the powerful, the wise
57:2 Rule of the skies and the earth belongs to Him, He gives life and causes death, and He is capable of everything
57:3 He is the first and the last, and the obvious and the obscure, and He knows everything
57:4 He is the One who created the skies and the earth in six stages and then He settled on the throne. He knows whatever goes into the earth and whatever comes out of it, and whatever comes down from the sky and whatever that goes up to it, and He is with you wherever you are, and God sees whatever you do
57:5 Rule of the skies and the earth belongs to Him, and the affairs are returned to God
57:6 He makes the night pass through the day and makes the day pass through the night. And He knows what is inside the chests (your intentions)
57:7 Believe in God and His messenger and spend (in God's way) from what He made you successors in it. There is a great reward for those of you who believed and spent (in God's way)
57:8 What is with you that you don’t believe in God while the messenger calls you to believe in your Master? And He has certainly taken your commitment if you are believer
57:9 He is the One who sends down clear signs to His servant in order to bring you out of the darkness into the light. And God is indeed gentle and merciful to you
57:10 And what is with you that you do not spend in God’s way, while the inheritance of the skies and the earth belongs to God? Those of you who spent and fought before the victory are not equal (with those who did that later). They have greater rank than those who spent and fought afterward, while God promised the goodness to all (of them). And God is well informed of what you do
57:11 And who is he that lends God a good loan (or who is he that offers God a good deed) so that He multiplies it for him, and there is a noble (and generous) reward for him
57:12 A day when you see the believing men and the believing women rushing with their lights ahead of them and to the right of them (they will be told): today your good news is gardens that rivers flow through them, remaining in there forever. That is the great victory
57:13 A day when the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women say to those who believed: look at us that we may get some of your light. It is said: go back to your past and look for a light. And a wall having a gate is put up between them, its interior has mercy in it while its exterior has the punishment facing it
57:14 They (the disbelievers) call on them (the believers): were we not with you? they say: yes, but you tempted yourselves and you waited and you doubted, and wishful thinking deceived you until God’s command came and the deceiver (Satan) deceived you about God
57:15 So today no ransom is taken from you and from those who disbelieved, your housing is the fire, it is your sponsor and it is a bad destination
57:16 Is it not about time for those who believed to humble their hearts for God’s remembrance and what came down from the truth, and do not be like those who were given the book in the past, and then after some time passed for them their hearts hardened and many of them were disobedient
57:17 Know that God brings the earth back to life after its death. We certainly made the signs clear for you, so that you may understand
57:18 The charitable men and the charitable women and those who lend God a good loan (or offer God a good deed), it (their reward) is multiplied for them and a noble (and generous) reward is for them
57:19 And those who believed in God and His messenger, they are the truthful and witnesses before their Master, they have their reward and their light. And those who disbelieved and denied Our signs, they are inhabitants of the hellfire
57:20 Know that this world’s life is only play and amusement, and decoration and show off among yourselves, and wanting more in the wealth and the children. It is like the example of a rain that its plant growth impresses the farmers, then it dries up and you see it turn yellow and then becomes broken pieces. And in the hereafter there is severe punishment (for the disbelievers) and forgiveness and pleasure of God (for the believers). And this world’s life is only means of the deception
57:21 Race to forgiveness of your Master, and a garden whose width is as wide as the sky and the earth, and is prepared for those who believed in God and His messengers. That is God’s grace that He gives it to anyone He wants. And God has enormous grace
57:22 No tragedy happens on the earth or within yourselves unless it is in a book before We create it (according to God's laws). This is easy for God
57:23 So that you do not be sad over what slips away from you (or what you lose) and not to be overjoyed about what He gives you. And God does not like any selfish show off
57:24 those who are stingy and order people to the stinginess. And anyone who turns back, God is indeed the rich (without any need) and the praiseworthy
57:25 We have certainly sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and sent down the book and the balance (of right and wrong) with them so that people carry out justice. And We sent down the iron in which there is a great badness and benefits for the people, and for God to know anyone who helps Him and His messenger in the secret. God is indeed strong and powerful.
57:26 And We have certainly sent Noah and Abraham and We put the prophethood and the book among their descendants, so some of them were guided, and most of them were disobedient
57:27 Then We followed them up with Our messengers, and We sent Jesus son of Mary and We gave him the Gospel, and put gentleness and mercy in the heart of those who followed him. But they made up being monks, We did not mandate it to them, but (We mandated) looking for God's pleasure, but they did not observe it as it was supposed to be observed. Then we gave those among them who believed their reward, while most of them are disobedient
57:28 You who believe, be cautious of God and believe in His messenger, that He gives you a double portion of His mercy and makes a light for you to walk with it and forgives you. He is forgiving and merciful
57:29 So that people of the book know that they do not have a bit of power over God’s grace, and that the grace is in God’s hand, giving it to anyone He wants. God has enormous grace
