for when they are told, "Come unto that which God has bestowed from on high, and unto the Apostle" - they answer, "Enough for us is that which we found our forefathers believing in and doing." Why, even though their forefathers knew nothing, and were devoid of all guidance?
And when it is said unto them: Come unto that which Allah hath revealed and unto the messenger, they say: Enough for us is that wherein we found our fathers. What! Even though their fathers had no knowledge whatsoever, and no guidance?
And when it is said to them, Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger, they say: That on which we found our fathers is sufficient for us. What! even though their fathers knew nothing and did not follow the right way.
When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed; come to the Messenger": They say: "Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following." what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance?
When it is said to them: "Come to what God hath revealed; come to the Apostle": They say: "Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following." what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance?
And when it was said to them: Approach now to what God caused to descend and to the Messenger, they said: Enough is what we found our fathers upon. Even though their fathers had been knowing nothing nor are they truly guided?
when it is said to them, Come to what God has sent down and to the Messenger. They reply, The faith we have inherited from our fathers is sufficient for us. Even though their forefathers knew nothing and were not guided!
Whenever they are told: "Come to what God has sent down, and to [hear] the Messenger," they say: ´We are satisfied with what we found our forefathers doing;" even though their forefathers did not know anything and were not guided!
When told to recourse to what Allah has sent down of divine revelations, and to the Messenger for help and advice, they simply refuse. They say: "We are quite satisfied with the particular system of faith and worship our fathers were bent on. But how will it be if their fathers had lacked the soundness of judgement and had missed the path of righteousness.
And if they are told: "Come to what God has sent down, and to the messenger;" they Say: "We are content with what we found our fathers doing." What if their fathers did not know anything nor were guided
when it is said to them, ‘Come to what God has sent down, and to the Messenger,’ they say, ‘What we inherited from our forefathers is good enough for us,’ even though their forefathers knew nothing and were not guided.
And when it is said unto them: come to that which Allah hath sent down and to the apostle, they say: enough for us is that whereon we found our fathers. What! even though their fathers knew not aught nor were guided.
When you say to them: "Come to what God has revealed, and the Prophet," they say: "Sufficient to us is the faith that our fathers had followed," even though their fathers had no knowledge or guidance.
When they are told, ´Come to what Allah has sent down and to the Messenger,´ they say, ´What we found our fathers doing is enough for us.´ What! Even if their fathers did not know anything and were not guided!
When it is said to them, "Come (in obedience) to what God has sent down and to the Messenger (to whom the Qur’an is being revealed), they (refuse to think, and instead) say: "Enough for us (are the ways) that we found our forefathers on." What, even if their forefathers knew nothing and were not guided (and so did not follow a right way)?
And when they are told, ‘Come to what Allah has sent down and [come] to the Apostle,’ they say, ‘Sufficient for us is what we have found our fathers following.’ What, even if their fathers did not know anything and were not guided?!
And when it is said to them, "Come round to what Allah has revealed unto His Apostle," they say, "Enough for us is that wherein we found our fathers." What! Even though their fathers had no knowledge whatever and no guidance?
And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allah has sent down and to the Messenger, " they say, "Enough (Literally: enough reckoning) for us is what we found our fathers (doing)." And even if their fathers did not know anything and were not guided?
When they are told to refer to the guidance of God and to the Messenger, they say, "The tradition of our fathers is sufficient for our guidance," even though, in fact, their fathers had neither knowledge nor proper guidance.
When it is said to them, .Come to what Allah has sent down, and to the Messenger;. they say, .Sufficient for us is that on which we have found our forefathers. Is it so, even though their forefathers knew nothing, and had no guidance either?
When it is said to them, "Come to that which Allah has revealed and to His Messenger, they say, "Enough for us is what we found our parents doing." What! Even though their parents had no knowledge whatsoever and no guidance?
When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah has revealed, and come to the Messenger (Muhammad):" They say: "The ways we found our fathers following are enough for us." What! Even though their fathers did not have the knowledge and guidance?
And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger," they say, "Sufficient for us is that upon which we found our fathers." Even though their fathers knew nothing, nor were they guided?
When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah has revealed and come to the Messenger." They reply: "Sufficient for us are the ways on which we found our forefathers." What! Even though their forefathers knew nothing and were not rightly guided?

When they are told, "Come to what Allah has revealed, come to the prophet" they say, "Whatever we found our forefathers doing is good enough for us." Even though their forefathers knew nothing at all, nor were they guided?

Controversial, deprecated, or status undetermined works
When it is said to them: “Follow the laws of the Lord which is revealed to the Prophet,” they reply: “We prefer to follow our forefathers way of life [even though it implies nonsense such as the above mentioned practices.]” What if their forefathers knew nothing and their “way of life” would lead them nowhere?
