hal yanẓurūna illā tawīlahu yawma yatī tawīluhu yaqūlu alladhīna nasūhu min qablu qad jāat rusulu rabbinā bil-ḥaqi fahal lanā min shufaʿāa fayashfaʿū lanā aw nuraddu fanaʿmala ghayra alladhī kunnā naʿmalu qad khasirū anfusahum waḍalla ʿanhum mā kānū yaftarūn
Do they wait except (for) its fulfillment (The) Day (will) come its fulfillment, will say those who had forgotten it from before, "Verily had come (the) Messengers (of) our Lord with the truth, so are (there) for us any intercessors so (that) they intercede for us or we are sent back so (that) we do (deeds) other than that which we used to do." Verily, they lost themselves, and strayed from them what they used to invent.

Are [the unbelievers] but waiting for the final meaning of that [Day of Judgment] to unfold? [But] on the Day when its final meaning is unfolded, those who aforetime had been oblivious thereof will say: "Our Sustainer's apostles have indeed told us the truth! Have we, then, any intercessors who could intercede in our behalf? Or could we be brought back [to life] so that we might act otherwise than we were wont to act?" Indeed, they will have squandered their own selves, and all their false imagery will have forsaken them
Await they aught save the fulfilment thereof? On the day when the fulfilment thereof cometh, those who were before forgetful thereof will say: The messengers of our Lord did bring the Truth! Have we any intercessors, that they may intercede for us? Or can we be returned (to life on earth), that we may act otherwise than we used to act? They have lost their souls, and that which they devised hath failed them
Do they just wait for the final fulfilment of the event? On the day the event is finally fulfilled, those who disregarded it before will say: "The messengers of our Lord did indeed bring true (tidings). Have we no intercessors now to intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back? then should we behave differently from our behaviour in the past." In fact they will have lost their souls, and the things they invented will leave them in the lurch
Do they wait for aught but its final sequel? On the day when its final sequel comes about, those who neglected it before will say: Indeed the messengers of our Lord brought the truth; are there for us then any intercessors so that they should intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back so that we should do (deeds) other than those which we did? Indeed they have lost their souls and that which they forged has gone away from them
Do they wait for the fulfillment of that of which it warns? On the Day when that fulfillment comes, those who had neglected it before will say, The messengers of our Lord did indeed bring the truth. Have we then any intercessors who would intercede for us? Or, could we be sent back so that we might act differently from the way we used to? They have indeed ruined their souls and what they invented has forsaken them
Did they look on for nothing but its interpretation? The Day its interpretation approaches, those who forgot it before will say: Surely, Messengers of our Lord drew near us with The Truth. Have we any intercessors who will intercede for us? Or will we be returned so we do other than what we had been doing before? Surely, they lost themselves. Went astray from them what they had been devising.
Are they only waiting for it to be interpreted? The day its interpretation comes along, those who have already forgotten it will say: "Our Lord´s messengers did bring the Truth! Have we any intercessors to intercede for us? Or should we be sent back, then we would act so differently from the way we have been acting." They have lost their souls and what they have been inventing has left them in the lurch.
Do they only await the fulfilment ˹of its warning˺? The Day it will be fulfilled, those who ignored it before will say, “The messengers of our Lord certainly came with the truth. Are there any intercessors who can plead on our behalf? Or can we be sent back so we may do ˹good,˺ unlike what we used to do?” They will have certainly ruined themselves, and whatever ˹gods˺ they fabricated will fail them.
Are they [the unbelievers] waiting for the final prophecy to unfold? On the Day when its final meaning will unfolded, those who ignored it before will say, "Our Lord's Messengers spoke the Truth. Is there anyone to intercede for us now? Or, could we be brought back [to life] so that we might behave differently than how we behaved before?" They will have lost their souls and all the lies they had invented will have forsaken them.
Are they waiting that its reality be unfolded? When the Day will come, its reality will be unfolded, those who had forgotten it before, will say: “Surely, the Messengers of our Lord did come with the truth. Do we have any intercessors now, who might intercede for us? Or could we be sent back (to world) so that we would do good deeds other than those evil deeds we used to do?” Surely, they have lost themselves and whatever they used to fabricate has forsaken them.
Do they wait for aught save the full disclosure thereof? The Day when its full disclosure comes, those who forgot it beforehand will say, “The messengers of our Lord indeed brought the truth! Have we any intercessors who might intercede for us? Or might we be returned, that we might do other than what we used to do?” They have surely lost their souls, and that which they used to fabricate has forsaken them
Are they waiting for what it says to come true On the day it comes true, those who previously forgot it will Say: "Our Lord's messengers have come with truth! Are there any intercessors to intercede for us or can we be sent back and we will work differently than what we did" They have lost their souls and what they have invented has abandoned them
What are they waiting for but the fulfilment of its [final prophecy]? On the Day it is fulfilled, those who had ignored it will say, ‘Our Lord’s messenger spoke the truth. Is there anyone to intercede for us now? Or can we be sent back to behave differently from the way we behaved before?’ They will really have squandered their souls, and all [the idols] they invented will have deserted them
They await only its fulfilment. The Day whereon the fulfilment thereof arriveth, those who were negligent thereof afore shall say: surely the apostles of our Lord brought the truths; are there for us any intercessors that they might intercede for us? or could we be sent back that we may work otherwise than we were wont to work? Surely they have lost themselves, and there hath strayed from them that which they were wont to fabricate
Are they waiting for the exposition of what it speaks of? The day that (Reality) is unravelled, the people who had lost sight of it will say: "The apostles of our Lord had indeed brought the truth. Do we have any one to intercede for us? If only we could go back to the world, we would act otherwise." Indeed they have caused themselves harm, and the lies they concocted did not help
What are they waiting for but its fulfilment? The Day its fulfilment occurs, those who forgot it before will say, ´The Messengers of our Lord came with the Truth. Are there any intercessors to intercede for us, or can we be sent back so that we can do something other than what we did?´ They have lost their own selves and what they invented has forsaken them.
Are they waiting but for the final end of the call to that Book? On the Day when this end comes, those, who until then have been oblivious of it, say: "The Messengers of our Lord assuredly came with the truth (but we did not pay heed.) Have we, then, any intercessors who will now intercede on our behalf? Or can we be returned (to the world) that we might do otherwise than we used to do (when we were in the world)? They have certainly ruined their selves and what they fabricated (of false deities) has failed them
Do they await anything but its fulfillment? The day when its fulfillment comes, those who had forgotten it before will say, ‘Our Lord’s apostles had certainly brought the truth. If only we had some intercessors to intercede for us, or we would be returned, so that we may do differently from what we did!’ They have certainly ruined their souls, and what they used to fabricate has forsaken them
Do they just wait now for its fulfilment (or interpretation)? On the day when its fulfilment shall come, those who forgot it before will say, "Indeed, there did come to us the Messenger of our Lord in truth. Have we no intercessors now to intercede
Do they look for (anything) except its interpretation? The Day its interpretation comes up, the ones who forgot it earlier will say, "The Messengers of Our Lord already came with the Truth; so, have we any intercessors, (for) then they would intercede for us, or will we be turned back to do other than what we were doing?" They have already lost their (own) selves, and what they were fabricating has erred away from them
(Despite the clear details of Our guidance in the Book) do they still wait for further interpretations? On the Day (of Judgment) when its interpretations will be revealed, those who had ignored its guidance will confess, saying, "The Messengers of our Lord had certainly come to us with the Truth. Will anyone intercede for us or send us back (to life) so that we would be able to act in a different manner to that which we had done before?" These people have certainly lost their souls and their evil inventions (which they had used for false excuses) will vanish
They are waiting for nothing but its final result (i.e. the punishment promised in the Qur‘an). The day when its final result will come, those who had ignored it earlier will say, .Surely, the messengers of our Lord had come with truth. So, are there any intercessors for us who could intercede in our favor? Or, could we be sent back, so that we might do contrary to what we used to do?. Indeed, they have put their selves to loss, and vanished from them all that they used to fabricate
Are they waiting until the consequences stare them in their eyes? The Day the consequences appear, those who disregarded it will say, "The Messengers of our Lord did bring the Truth. Are there any intercessors to intercede on our behalf? Or can we be returned that we behave differently from our past?" They have put their "Self" in loss and their own forgery fails them. (They will seek mediation for their mutual conflicts and long for starting from scratch. Since they have hurt their "Self", they have lost the power of judgment and they would need help. They have been fabricating unworkable systems)
Do they just wait for the final completion of the event? On the day that the event is finally completed, those who disregarded it before will say: "Surely, the messengers of our Lord in fact brought true (news). Have we nobody to speak for us now (and) to intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back? Then we will do (good) deeds other than our evil actions." In fact, they will have lost their souls, and the things they invented will leave them in the lurch (and without help)
Do they await except its result? The Day its result comes those who had ignored it before will say, "The messengers of our Lord had come with the truth, so are there [now] any intercessors to intercede for us or could we be sent back to do other than we used to do?" They will have lost themselves, and lost from them is what they used to invent
Now are these people waiting for anything other than the Day of Fulfillment (Day of Judgment)? When the Day of Fulfillment will come, those who have disregarded it, will say: "Indeed the Messengers of our Lord had come with the truth. Are there any intercessors now, who could intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back so that we would not do as we have done before." In fact they would have lost their souls and the things they had invented will leave them in the lurch

What they now await is just the fulfillment (of the events foretold). On the day the events unfold, those who had ignored it earlier would acknowledge it saying, "The messengers of our Lord had brought us the truth. Now, do we have anyone to intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back to our former existence, so we may earn deeds different from what we had?" They incurred a heavy loss on themselves and the lies they had invented, did not help

Or, can we be restored to life that we might perform differently from that which we did? ´ They surely ended in utter loss, and the lies they had fabricated failed them

A day that its realization comes, those who previously forgot it say: our Master's messengers brought us the truth, are there any mediators to mediate for us, or will we be sent back so that we do differently than what we were doing? Indeed they brought loss upon themselves and what they used to make up abandoned them
Do they just wait for the final fulfillment of the event? On the day the event is finally fulfilled, those who disregarded it before will say, “The messengers of our Lord indeed brought truth. Are there any intercessors to intercede for us? Or can we be sent back and we will work differently than what we did?" They have lost their souls and what they have invented has abandoned them.
Are they waiting for it to occur first? On the day it occurs, those who had forgotten about it before, will say, "Messengers of our Lord had indeed come with the Truth! Are there for us then any intercessors to intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back so that we do things other than what we used to do?" Indeed they have doomed themselves and that which they concocted has deserted them

What are they waiting for? For the fulfillment [of what is promised in this book]? In that Day the only thing that they may say is: "Indeed what the Lord warned us through His prophets is true. Now, is there anyone to plea on our behalf? Is there anyway that we are sent back so that we make it up to the Lord by behaving differently than what we did?" They will, thus, find themselves in a great loss and will realize that what they took as their Lords, have left them alone

Are they waiting until all (prophecies) are fulfilled? The day such fulfillment comes to pass, those who disregarded it in the past will say, "The messengers of our Lord have brought the truth. Are there any intercessors to intercede on our behalf? Would you send us back, so that we change our behavior, and do better works than what we did?" They have lost their souls, and their own innovations have caused their doom.

What they are looking for, but only this that the result of the sayings of the Book should come before. The day when the foretold result will occur, those who had forgotten it before will say. 'Undoubtedly the Messengers of our Lord had brought the truth, then, is there any intercessor for us who could intercede on our behalf? Or could We be sent back so that we might do deeds other than that we did before. Surely they put their souls at a loss, and I have been lost from those who used to calumniate.
Do these (disbelievers) just await the final sequel (of the warning) thereof? The day its final sequel comes, those who had forsaken it before (in this life) would say, `The Messengers of our Lord did indeed come with the truth. Have we (now) any intercessors so that they may intercede for us? Or could we be sent back so that we might act otherwise than we used to act?' They have indeed ruined their souls and that which they used to forge has failed them
They are just waiting for the outcome of that (stated matter). The Day when the outcome of that (matter) will be unfolded, the people who had forgotten it before this will say: ‘No doubt the Messengers of our Lord came with the truth. So, are there any intercessors (Today) who will intercede for us? Or, can we be returned (to the world again) so that (this time) we might do deeds different from (those) that we had been perpetrating (before)?’ They certainly harmed themselves, and that (lie and fabrication) which they used to invent has parted with them
Await they just for the final fulfillment of the event? On the Day the event is finally fulfilled (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), those who neglected it before will say: "Verily, the Messengers of our Lord did come with the truth, now are there any intercessors for us that they might intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back (to the first life of the world) so that we might do (good) deeds other than those (evil) deeds which we used to do?" Verily, they have lost their ownselves (i.e. destroyed themselves) and that which they used to fabricate (invoking and worshipping others besides Allah) has gone away from them
Do they look for aught else but its interpretation? The day its interpretation comes, those who before forgot it shall say, 'Indeed, our Lord's Messengers came with the truth. Have we then any intercessors to intercede for us, or shall we be returned, to do other than that we have done?' They have indeed lost their souls, and that which they were forging has gone astray from them
Do they wait now for aught but its interpretation?- on the day when its interpretation shall come, those who forgot it before will say, There did come to us the apostles of our Lord in truth, have we intercessors to intercede for us? or, could we return, we would do otherwise than we did.' They have lost themselves, and that which they devised has strayed away from them
Do they wait for any other than the interpretation thereof? On the day whereon the interpretation thereof shall come, they who had forgotten the same before, shall say, now are we convinced by demonstration that the messengers of our Lord came unto us with truth: Shall we therefore have any intercessors, who will intercede for us? Or shall we be sent back into the world, that we may do other works than what we did in our life-time? But now have they lost their souls; and that which they impiously imagined, hath fled from them
What have they to wait for now but its interpretation? Are they waiting but for its fulfilment? On the day it is fulfilled, those that have forgotten it will say: ‘Our Lord‘s apostles surely came to us with the Truth before. Could we but have intercessors to plead on our behalf! Could we but live our lives again, we would not do as we have done.‘ They shall forfeit their souls, and that which they invented will forsake them

The time when its interpretation becomes manifest, those who forgot before will say, “Indeed the Rasuls of our Rabb have brought the Truth... Will there be any intercessors to intercede for us or could we be sent back so that we do differently to what we (previously) did!” They have indeed put themselves into loss, and realized the emptiness of what they assumed existed!

Do they -the infidels- purpose to wait until fitting events fulfill the prophecies and all that has been promised in the Book! But when such overwhelming events present themselves shall those who had disregarded the promise and willfully neglected it say: " Indeed; now we do realize that the Messengers of Allah had brought us the truth which dawned on us with illumination and enlightenment". "Are there intercessors to intercede for us or can we be permitted to go back to life below to decide more wisely, think better than what our minds and souls had impelled us to do! " Indeed they have lost their own souls and have been forsaken and renounced by those whom they presumed to share with Allah His divine nature, who failed their expectation
Do they wait for anything else than the fulfillment (of the promise made in the book)? The day its fulfillment comes, those who had forgotten it earlier will say, "Messengers of our Fosterer had indeed come with the truth. So are there any mediators for us, that they may mediate for us or could we be sent back so that we may do something other than that which we used to do?" They have indeed caused loss to themselves and that which they used to forge has gone away from them.
