Did they not see how many generations We have destroyed before them? We granted them dominance over the land more than what We granted you, and We sent the sky to them abundantly, and We made rivers flow beneath them; then, We destroyed them for their sins, and established after them a new generation.

6:6

Did they not see how many generations We have destroyed before them? We granted them dominance over the land more than what We granted you, and We sent the sky to them abundantly, and We made rivers flow beneath them; then, We destroyed them for their sins, and established after them a new generation.

10:13
Wa Laqad 'Ahlaknā Al-Qurūna Min Qablikum Lammā žalamū Wa Jā'at/hum Rusuluhum Bil-Bayyināti Wa Mā Kānū Liyu'uminū Kadhālika Najzī Al-Qawma Al-Mujrimīna

And We have destroyed the generations before you when they transgressed; and their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they would not believe. It is such that We recompense the criminal people.

11:116
Falawlā Kāna Mina Al-Qurūni Min Qablikum 'Ūlū Baqīyatin Yanhawna `Ani Al-Fasādi Fī Al-'ArĐi 'Illā Qalīlāan Mimman 'Anjaynā Minhum Wa Attaba`a Al-Ladhīna žalamū Mā 'Utrifū Fīhi Wa Kānū Mujrimīna

If only there was from the previous generations a people with wisdom who prohibited corruption on the earth, except the few that We saved of them. And those who were wicked followed the enjoyment they were in, and they were criminal.

17:17
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Mina Al-Qurūni Min Ba`di Nūĥin Wa Kafá Birabbika Bidhunūbi `Ibādihi Khabīrāan Başīrāan

And how many a generation have We destroyed after Noah? And it is enough for your Lord to have knowledge and sight over the sins of His servants.

19:74
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Qablahum Min Qarnin Hum 'Aĥsanu 'Athāthāan Wa Ri'yāan

And how many a generation have We destroyed before them? They had more wealth and more influence.

19:98
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Qablahum Min Qarnin Hal Tuĥissu Minhum Min 'Aĥadin 'Aw Tasma`u Lahum Rikzāan

And how many a generation have We destroyed before them? Do you perceive any of them or hear from them a sound?

20:51
Qāla Famā Bālu Al-Qurūni Al-'Ūlá

He said: "What then has happened to the previous generations?"

20:128
'Afalam Yahdi Lahum Kam 'Ahlaknā Qablahum Mina Al-Qurūni Yamshūna Fī Masākinihim 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Li'wlī An-Nuhá

Is it not a guide to them how many generations We had destroyed before them, which they are walking now in their homes? In that are signs for the people of understanding.

23:31
Thumma 'Ansha'nā Min Ba`dihim Qarnāan 'Ākharīna

Then We raised after them a different generation.

23:42
Thumma 'Ansha'nā Min Ba`dihim Qurūnāan 'Ākharīna

Then We raised after them different generations.

25:38
Wa `Ādāan Wa Thamūda Wa 'Aşĥāba Ar-Rassi Wa Qurūnāan Bayna Dhālika Kathīrāan

And 'Aad and Thamud and the dwellers of Arras, and many generations in between.

28:43
Wa Laqad 'Ātaynā Mūsá Al-Kitāba Min Ba`di Mā 'Ahlaknā Al-Qurūna Al-'Ūlá Başā'ira Lilnnāsi Wa Hudáan Wa Raĥmatan La`allahum Yatadhakkarūna

We had given Moses the Book after We had destroyed the earlier generations; as an example for the people and a guidance and a mercy, perhaps they will take heed.

28:45
Wa Lakinnā 'Ansha'nā Qurūnāan Fataţāwala `Alayhimu Al-`Umuru Wa Mā Kunta Thāwīāan Fī 'Ahli Madyana Tatlū `Alayhim 'Āyātinā Wa Lakinnā Kunnā Mursilīna

And We established many generations, and many ages passed them by. And you were not living among the people of Midyan, reciting Our revelations to them. But We were to send messengers.

28:78
Qāla 'Innamā 'Ūtītuhu `Alá `Ilmin `Indī 'Awalam Ya`lam 'Anna Allāha Qad 'Ahlaka Min Qablihi Mina Al-Qurūni Man Huwa 'Ashaddu Minhu Qūwatan Wa 'Aktharu Jam`āan Wa Lā Yus'alu `An Dhunūbihimu Al-Mujrimūna

He said: "I have attained all this only because of my own knowledge." Did he not realize that God had annihilated before him generations that were much stronger than he, and greater in riches? The transgressors were not asked about their crimes.

32:26
'Awalam Yahdi Lahum Kam 'Ahlaknā Min Qablihim Mina Al-Qurūni Yamshūna Fī Masākinihim 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin 'Afalā Yasma`ūna

Is it not a guide for them how many generations We have annihilated before them in whose dwellings they walk? In that are signs. Do they not listen?

36:31
'Alam Yaraw Kam 'Ahlaknā Qablahum Mina Al-Qurūni 'Annahum 'Ilayhim Lā Yarji`ūna

Did they not see how many generations We destroyed before them, do they not go back to them?

38:3
Kam 'Ahlaknā Min Qablihim Min Qarnin Fanādaw Walāta Ĥīna Manāşin

How many a generation have We destroyed before them. And they called out when it was far too late.

46:17
Wa Al-Ladhī Qāla Liwālidayhi 'Uffin Lakumā 'Ata`idāninī 'An 'Ukhraja Wa Qad Khalati Al-Qurūnu Min Qablī Wa Humā Yastaghīthāni Allāha Waylaka 'Āmin 'Inna Wa`da Allāhi Ĥaqqun Fayaqūlu Mā Hādhā 'Illā 'Asāţīru Al-'Awwalīna

And the one who says to his parents: Enough of you! Are you promising me that I will be resurrected, when the generations who died before me never came back? While they both will implore God: Woe to you; believe! For the promise of God is the truth. He would say: This is nothing except fictional tales of old!

50:36
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Qablahum Min Qarnin Hum 'Ashaddu Minhum Baţshāan Fanaqqabū Fī Al-Bilādi Hal Min Maĥīşin

And how many a generation before them have We destroyed? They were stronger in power, and they had dominated the land. Did they find any refuge?

Wa Yas'alūnaka `An Dhī Al-Qarnayni Qul Sa'atlū `Alaykum Minhu Dhikrāan

And they ask you about the Two Horned One, say: "I will recite to you a remembrance of him."

18:86

Until he reached the setting of the sun; he found it setting at a hot spring, and he found a people near it. We said: "O Two Horned One, either you shall punish, or you shall do them good."

18:94

They said: "O Two Horned One, Gog and Magog are destroyers of the land, so shall we make a tribute for you that you will make between us and them a barrier?"

Qaroon was from among the people of Moses, but he betrayed them. And We gave him such treasures that the keys thereof were almost too heavy for the strongest person. His people said to him: "Do not glee, for God does not love the gleeful."

28:79
