7:111
Qālū 'Arjihi Wa 'Akhāhu Wa 'Arsil Fī Al-Madā'ini Ĥāshirīna

They said: "Delay him and his brother, and send gatherers to the cities."

7:123
Qāla Fir`awnu 'Āmantum Bihi Qabla 'An 'Ādhana Lakum 'Inna Hādhā Lamakrun Makartumūhu Fī Al-Madīnati Litukhrijū Minhā 'Ahlahā Fasawfa Ta`lamūna

Pharaoh said: "Have you become believers before I have given you permission? This is surely some scheme which you have schemed in the city to drive its people out; you will reveal what you know."

9:101
Wa Mimman Ĥawlakum Mina Al-'A`rābi Munāfiqūna Wa Min 'Ahli Al-Madīnati Maradū `Alá An-Nifāqi Lā Ta`lamuhum Naĥnu Na`lamuhum Sanu`adhdhibuhum Marratayni Thumma Yuraddūna 'Ilá `Adhābin `Ažīmin

And from among the Nomads around you are hypocrites, and from among the people of the city, they persist in hypocrisy. You do not know them, but We know them. We will punish them twice, then they will be returned to a great punishment.

9:120
Mā Kāna Li'hli Al-Madīnati Wa Man Ĥawlahum Mina Al-'A`rābi 'An Yatakhallafū `An Rasūli Allāhi Wa Lā Yarghabū Bi'anfusihim `An Nafsihi Dhālika Bi'annahum Lā Yuşībuhum žama'un Wa Lā Naşabun Wa Lā Makhmaşatun Fī Sabīli Allāhi Wa Lā Yaţa'ūna Mawţi'āan Yaghīžu Al-Kuffāra Wa Lā Yanālūna Min `Adūwin Naylāan 'Illā Kutiba Lahum Bihi `Amalun Şāliĥun 'Inna Allāha Lā YuĐī`u 'Ajra Al-Muĥsinīna

It is not advisable for the dwellers of the city and those around them of the Nomads that they should lag behind after the messenger of God, nor should they yearn for themselves above him. That is because any thirst that will come to them, or fatigue, or hunger in the cause of God, or any step that they take which will annoy the rejecters, or any gain they have over any enemy; it will be recorded as a good deed for them. God does not waste the reward of the good doers.

12:30
Wa Qāla Niswatun Fī Al-Madīnati Amra'atu Al-`Azīzi Turāwidu Fatāhā `An Nafsihi Qad Shaghafahā Ĥubbāan 'Innā Lanarāhā Fī Đalālin Mubīnin

And some women in the city said: "The wife of the governor is trying to seduce her young man from himself; she is taken by love. We see her clearly misguided."

15:67
Wa Jā'a 'Ahlu Al-Madīnati Yastabshirūna

And the people of the city came seeking good news.

18:19
Wa Kadhalika Ba`athnāhum Liyatasā'alū Baynahum Qāla Qā'ilun Minhum Kam Labithtum Qālū Labithnā Yawmāan 'Aw Ba`Đa Yawmin Qālū Rabbukum 'A`lamu Bimā Labithtum Fāb`athū 'Aĥadakum Biwariqikum Hadhihi 'Ilá Al-Madīnati Falyanžur 'Ayyuhā 'Azká Ţa`āmāan Falya'tikum Birizqin Minhu Wa Līatalaţţaf Wa Lā Yush`iranna Bikum 'Aĥadāan

And it was thus that We delivered them so they would ask themselves. A speaker from among them said: "How long have you stayed?" They said: "We stayed a day or part of a day." He said: "Your Lord is surely aware how long you stayed, so send one of you with these stamped coins of yours to the city, and let him see which is the tastiest food, and let him come with a provision of it. And let him be careful and let no one notice you."

18:82
Wa 'Ammā Al-Jidāru Fakāna Lighulāmayni Yatīmayni Fī Al-Madīnati Wa Kāna Taĥtahu Kanzun Lahumā Wa Kāna 'Abūhumā Şāliĥāan Fa'arāda Rabbuka 'An Yablughā 'Ashuddahumā Wa Yastakhrijā Kanzahumā Raĥmatan Min Rabbika Wa Mā Fa`altuhu `An 'Amrī Dhālika Ta'wīlu Mā Lam Tasţi` `Alayhi Şabrāan

"And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphaned boys in the city, and underneath it was a treasure for them, and their father was a good man, so your Lord wanted that they reach their independence and bring out their treasure as a mercy from your Lord. And none of what I have done was of my own accord. That is the meaning of what you could not have patience for."

26:36
Qālū 'Arjihi Wa 'Akhāhu Wa Ab`ath Fī Al-Madā'ini Ĥāshirīna

They said: "Delay him and his brother, and send gatherers to the cities."

26:53
Fa'arsala Fir`awnu Fī Al-Madā'ini Ĥāshirīna

So Pharaoh sent gatherers to the cities.

27:48
Wa Kāna Fī Al-Madīnati Tis`atu Rahţin Yufsidūna Fī Al-'ArĐi Wa Lā Yuşliĥūna

And in the city were nine ruffians who were causing corruption in the land, and they were not reforming.

28:15
Wa Dakhala Al-Madīnata `Alá Ĥīni Ghaflatin Min 'Ahlihā Fawajada Fīhā Rajulayni Yaqtatilāni Hādhā Min Shī`atihi Wa Hadhā Min `Adūwihi Fāstaghāthahu Al-Ladhī Min Shī`atihi `Alá Al-Ladhī Min `Adūwihi Fawakazahu Mūsá FaqaĐá `Alayhi Qāla Hādhā Min `Amali Ash-Shayţāni 'Innahu `Adūwun MuĐillun Mubīnun

And he entered the city unexpectedly, without being noticed by the people. He found in it two men who were fighting, one was from his clan, and the other was from that of his enemy. So the one who was from his clan called on him for help against his enemy, whereby Moses punched him, killing him. He said: "This is from the work of the devil; he is an enemy that clearly misleads."

28:18
Fa'aşbaĥa Fī Al-Madīnati Khā'ifāan Yataraqqabu Fa'idhā Al-Ladhī Astanşarahu Bil-'Amsi Yastaşrikhuhu Qāla Lahu Mūsá 'Innaka Laghawīyun Mubīnun

So he spent the night in the city, afraid and watchful. Then the one who sought his help yesterday, was asking again for his help. Moses said to him: "You are clearly a trouble maker."

28:20
Wa Jā'a Rajulun Min 'Aqşá Al-Madīnati Yas`á Qāla Yā Mūsá 'Inna Al-Mala'a Ya'tamirūna Bika Liyaqtulūka Fākhruj 'Innī Laka Mina An-Nāşiĥīna

And a man came running from the farthest part of the city, saying: "O Moses, the commanders are plotting to kill you, so leave immediately. I am giving you good advice."

33:60
La'in Lam Yantahi Al-Munāfiqūna Wa Al-Ladhīna Fī Qulūbihim MaraĐun Wa Al-Murjifūna Fī Al-Madīnati Lanughriyannaka Bihim Thumma Lā Yujāwirūnaka Fīhā 'Illā Qalīlāan

If the hypocrites and those with disease in their hearts and those who spread lies in the city do not refrain, then We will let you overpower them, then they will not be able to remain as your neighbors except for a short while.

36:20
Wa Jā'a Min 'Aqşá Al-Madīnati Rajulun Yas`á Qāla Yā Qawmi Attabi`ū Al-Mursalīna

And a man came running from the farthest part of the city, saying: O my people, follow the messengers.

63:8

They say: When we go back to the city, the noble therein will evict the lowly. But all nobility belongs to God and His messenger, and the believers. However, the hypocrites do not know.

And to Midyan, their brother Shu'ayb, he said: "My people, serve God, you have no god besides Him. That is better for you if you believe."

Did the news not come to them of those before them, the people of Noah and 'Aad and Thamud. And the people of Abraham, and the dwellers of Midyan, and those overthrown. Their messengers came to them with clarity; it was not God who wronged them, but it was themselves that they wronged.
