- 62:1
- Whatever is in the heavens and on earth declares the praises and glory of God, the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Exalted in Might, the Wise
- 62:2
- It is He Who has sent among the unlettered, a messenger from among themselves, to rehearse to them His signs, to refine them, and to instruct them in scripture and wisdom, although they had been before in obvious error
- 62:3
- As well as to them who have not already joined them, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise
- 62:4
- Such is the bounty of God that He bestows on whom He wills. And God is Lord of the greatest bounty
- 62:5
- The similitude of those who were charged with the obligations of the Mosaic Law, but who failed in those obligations, is that of a donkey that carries huge tomes. Unenviable is the similitude of people who falsify the signs of God, and God does not guide people who do wrong
- 62:6
- Say, “O you who stand on Judaism, if you think that you are friends to God to the exclusion of others then express your desire for death, if you are truthful.
- 62:7
- But never will they express that desire because of the deeds their hands have sent on before them, and God knows well those who do wrong
- 62:8
- Say, “The death from which you flee will indeed overtake you. Then you will be sent back to the Knower of all things secret and open, and He will inform you concerning the things that you did.
- 62:9
- O you who believe, when the call is made for prayer on Friday, hasten earnestly to the remembrance of God, and leave off business. That is best for you if you only knew
- 62:10
- Then when the prayer is finished, disperse through the land, and seek of the bounty of God. And remember God much, that you may flourish
- 62:11
- But when they see some deal or some entertainment, they disperse headlong into it, and leave you standing there. Say, “That which is from the presence of God is better than any entertainment or deal, and God is the best to provide.
