O Believers, do not place yourselves ahead of Allah and His messenger. Fear Allah. Truly, Allah is All-hearing, the All-knowing.
O Believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet. Do not speak loudly to him as you speak loudly to one another. Otherwise, your deeds may become vain without your realizing it.
Those that lower their voices in the presence of Allah’s messenger have had their hearts tested for piety. For them are forgiveness and a great reward.
Most of those who shout to you [Prophet Muhammed] from their chambers certainly lack understanding.
If they only had patience until you could come to them, it would be better for them. But Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.
O Believers, if a wicked person brings you any news, ascertain the truth. Otherwise, you may harm people unwittingly, and afterwards be sorry for what you have done.
Realize that Allah’s messenger is among you. If he were to follow many of your desires, you would certainly fall into mishap. Allah has endeared the faith to you. [He] has made it beautiful in your hearts. He has made hateful to you unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion. That is the way of those who walk in righteousness.
[This is] a grace and favor from Allah. Allah is the All-knowing, the Perfectly Wise.
If two groups of believers enter into a dispute, make peace between them. If one of (the two groups) trespasses against the other, strive against the trespassing group until it complies with the command of Allah. If it complies, then make peace between them with justice. Be fair. Truly, Allah loves those who are fair.
The believers are one faith family. Make peace among the family members. Fear Allah so you may receive mercy.
O Believers, men among you should not laugh at others. It may be that (those ridiculed) are better than (such men). Women should not [laugh at others]. It may be that (those ridiculed) are better than (such women). Do not defame or be sarcastic to one another. Do not call each other ugly names. “Wretched” is the name of disobedience after having attained faith. Those who continue are in the wrong.
O Believers, avoid being overly suspicious because some suspicions are sinful. Do not spy on each other, and do not gossip. Would you eat the flesh of your dead brother? No, you would abhor it! Fear Allah who is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
O Humanity, We created you from one male and one female and made you into nations and tribes so that you may get to know one another. Truly the most honorable among you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Allah has full knowledge and is well aware.
The desert Arabs say, “We believe.” Say, “You have no faith. You say, ‘We have submitted,’ but faith has not yet entered your hearts. But if you obey Allah and His messenger, He will not devalue your deeds. Truly, Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
Those who are believers are only those who have believed in Allah and His messenger and do not have any doubts. They have struggled with their belongings and their lives in the cause of Allah. The sincere ones are like that.
Say, “Will you teach Allah about your religion? Allah knows all that is in the skies and on Earth. Allah is the All-knowing of everything.”
They consider it a favor to you that they have embraced Islam. Say, “Do not count your Islam as a favor to me. No. Allah has bestowed a favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if you are sincere.
“Truly, Allah knows the secrets of the skies and Earth. Allah is All-seeing of all that you do.”
