Today's Ayat for Thursday, 2018-10-04 / 24 Muharram 1440
Whatever you have been given is only the provision of this life. But that which is with God is better and more enduring for those who believe and trust in their Lord;
those who avoid major sins and gross indecencies, and even if they become angry, they will forgive;
and those who respond to their Lord, pray regularly, conduct their affairs by mutual consultation, and give of what We have provided for them;
-- ash-Shura 42:36-38 as rendered by Safi Kaskas
IslamAwakened has been asked to add commentary to our Today's Ayat
This is today's comment:
We think we understand gratitude,
and to a lesser extent, we think we understand forgivness;
We understand that charity is not just worldly
we can help another person just by a smile and a goodly word
When we learn to listen to our Creator's guidance
we also learn to consult with others - while never blindly following.
(see also The Seven Habits of Qur'an Understanding)
This is an OPINION.
We must always read the verse(s) for ourselves!
