| 90:1 | | I CALL THIS earth to witness - | | 90:2 | | And you are free to live upon it, - | | 90:3 | | And the parent and the offspring | | 90:4 | | That We created man in toil and trouble | | 90:5 | | Does he think that no one has power over him | | 90:6 | | He says: "I have wasted a great deal of wealth." | | 90:7 | | Does he think that no one sees him | | 90:8 | | Did We not give him two eyes | | 90:9 | | One tongue, and two lips | | 90:10 | | And showed him two highways (of good and evil) | | 90:11 | | But he could not scale the steep ascent | | 90:12 | | How will you comprehend what the Steep ascent is? - | | 90:13 | | To free a neck (from the burden of debt or slavery) | | 90:14 | | Or to feed in times of famin | | 90:15 | | The orphan near in relationship | | 90:16 | | Or the poor in distress | | 90:17 | | And to be of those who believe, and urge upon one another to persevere, and urge upon each other to be kind | | 90:18 | | They are the people of the right hand (and will succeed) | | 90:19 | | But those who deny Our revelations are the people of the left hand | | 90:20 | | The Fire will vault them over |
