Abdul Hye rendition of Surah The Iron(al-Hadid)
---
57:1 All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah, and He is the All-Mighty, All-Wise.
57:2 To Him belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He gives life and causes death and He has power over all things.
57:3 He is the First (nothing is before Him) and the Last (nothing is after Him), the Evident (everything is in front of Him) and the Hidden (nothing is hidden from Him). And He is the All-Knower of every thing.
57:4 It is He Who created the heavens and the earth in 6 days and then rose over the throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). He knows what goes into the earth and what comes forth from it, and what descends from the heaven and what ascends to it. And He is with you (by His knowledge) wherever you may be. And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do.
57:5 To Him belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. All the matters return to Allah (for decision).
57:6 He causes the night to pass into the day and the day to pass into the night, and He has full knowledge of whatever is in the hearts.
57:7 Believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), and spend (in His Way) out of what He has made you trustees. Those of you who believe and spend (in His way), they will be greatly rewarded.
57:8 And what is the matter with you that you don’t believe in Allah? The Messenger (Muhammad) invites you to believe in your Lord, and indeed He has taken your covenant if you are real believers
57:9 It is He Who sends down clear revelations to His servant (Muhammad), so that He may bring you out from the darkness into the light. Surely, Allah is full of Kindness and Merciful to you.
57:10 And what is the matter with you that you don’t spend in the Cause of Allah? To Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquering (of Makkah) (with those among you who did later). Such are higher in degree than those who spent and fought afterwards. Yet, Allah has promised all of you the best (reward). And Allah is All-Aware of all of what you do.
57:11 Who is the one who will lend to Allah a goodly loan, so that (Allah) will increase it manifold to its credit (by repaying), and (besides) it will have a good reward (Paradise)
57:12 On the Day (of judgment) you shall see the believing men and the believing women, with their light shining before them and by their right hands. (It will be said to them): “Glad tidings for you this Day! (You shall enter the) gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to reside in it forever! Truly, this is the greatest success!”
57:13 On the Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believe: “Wait for us! Let us get something from your light!” It will be said: “Go back to your rear! Then seek a light!” So a wall will be put up between them with a gate in it. Inside it will be Mercy and outside it will be facing toward the punishment (of hell).
57:14 (The hypocrites) will call them (believers): “Were we not with you?” They (believers) will reply: “Yes! But you led yourselves into temptations, looked forward (for our destruction), you doubted (in faith); and you were deceived by false desires until the command of Allah came, while the chief deceiver (Satan) deceived you in respect of Allah.”
57:15 (They will be told): “So this Day no ransom shall be taken from you (hypocrites), or from those who disbelieved. Your abode is the fire, that is your friend (proper place), and worst is that destination.”
57:16 Has not the time come for the hearts of the believers to be humble by the reminder (this Qur’an) of Allah, and to the truth which has been revealed, so that they don’t become like those who received the Scripture before, and the term was prolonged for them but their hearts were hardened? Many of them are rebellious.
57:17 Know that Allah gives life to the earth after its death! Indeed We have made clear the revelations to you so that you may understand.
57:18 Surely, the charitable men and charitable women, and those who lend a goodly loan to Allah, it shall be increased manifold for them, and (besides) there shall be honorable reward (Paradise).
57:19 And those who believe in Allah and His Messengers, they are the truthful and the true witnesses with their Lord; they shall have their reward and their light. But those who disbelieve and deny Our revelations; they shall be the inmates of the blazing fire.
57:20 Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, show, and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children. It is like the vegetation (flourishes) after rain: its growth pleases the tillers; afterwards it dries up and you see it turn yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter, there will be severe punishment (for disbelievers) and forgiveness from Allah and (His) good pleasure (for the believers). The life of this world is not but a deceiving enjoyment.
57:21 Race with one another in hastening towards the forgiveness from your Lord and towards the Paradise, width of which is as the width of the heaven and the earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His Messengers. Such is the Grace of Allah, which He bestows on whom He pleases. And Allah is the Owner of great Bounty.
57:22 No calamity can befalls on the earth or in yourselves, except (that is inscribed) in a book (of Decrees), before We bring it into existence. Surely, that is easy for Allah.
57:23 (This is done) in order that you may not grieve for the things that you fail to get, or rejoice over that which has been given to you. And Allah does not like any prideful boasters,
57:24 nor those who are misers and enjoin miserliness upon people. Whoever turns away (from Allah), then (know that) surely Allah is Rich (free of all wants), Praise-Worthy.
57:25 Indeed, We have sent Our Messengers with clear signs and revealed the Scripture with them and the balance (justice) so that mankind may keep up justice. And We sent down iron, with its mighty power (in matters of war), and benefits for mankind, so that Allah may test those who will help Him (His religion) and His Messengers in the unseen. Surely, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.
57:26 And indeed, We sent Noah and Abraham, and bestowed in their offspring Prophethood and Scripture. Some of them were guided ones, but many of them were rebellious.
57:27 Then We sent after them, Our Messengers, and We sent Jesus, son of Mary, and gave him the gospel. And We placed compassion and Mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. But the monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe it for them but they sought to please Allah, but they did not observe it with the right of its observance. Yet, We rewarded those among them who believed, but many of them are rebellious.
57:28 O you who believe! Fear Allah, and believe in His Messenger (Muhammad). He will grant you a double portion of His Mercy, provide for you a light to walk (straight) and forgive you. And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
57:29 (Adapt this way) so that the people of the Scripture may know that they don’t have power over anything from the Grace of Allah, and that the Grace is in His authority, bestows it on whomever He wills. And Allah is the Owner of great Bounty.
