89:1  By the dawn.
89:2  By the ten nights.
89:3  By the even and the odd.
89:4  By the night as it passes—
89:5  is there in that a sworn oath for whoever has a mind?
89:6  Have yousg not seen what your Lord did to Ād
89:7  Iram, (the city) of the pillars
89:8  whose like has never been created in the lands;
89:9  and Thamûd, who carved the rocks in the valley;
89:10  and Pharaoh of the stakes?
89:11  They (all) exceeded all limits in the lands
89:12  and spread much corruption therein,
89:13  so yoursg Lord poured down upon them a scourge of punishment;
89:14  indeed, your Lord is certainly ever-watchful.
89:15  So, as for man, whenever his Lord tries him through honoring and blessing him, he says, “My Lord has honored me.”
89:16  But whenever He tries him through restricting his provision, he says, “My Lord has insulted me.”
89:17  But no! Rather, youpl do not honor the orphan,
89:18  and you do not urge one another to (serve) food to the destitutesg,
89:19  and you devour inheritance (of the vulnerable) greedily,
89:20  and you love wealth immensely.
89:21  But no! When the earth is pounded to dust, pounding after pounding;
89:22  and yoursg Lord comes with the angels, rank after rank;
89:23  and on that day, Hell is made to come forward—on that day man reminds himself, but how will reminding avail him?
89:24  He says, “If only I had put forth something (good) for my life.”
89:25  On that day, none can punish as He punishes,
89:26  and none can shackle as He shackles.
89:27  O you tranquil self,
89:28  return to your Lord, well pleased and well pleasing;
89:29  so enter among My servants,
89:30  and enter My Garden.
