60:1  O’ you who adhere firmly to Islamic monotheism, take not My enemies and your enemies for friends, offering them (your) love, even though they have refused to acknowledge the Truth that has come to you, driving out the ‘Messenger’ (‘Muhammad’) and yourselves (from your homes), because you believe in Allâh, your Lord. If you go forth to fight in My cause (in the service of promulgating the Message), and to seek My good pleasure, (then associate not with them). You secretly convey affection to them. I am fully aware of whatever you divulge and whatever you conceal. And whoever among you does that has verily strayed from the right way.
60:2  If it should happen that they gained dominance over you, they would still regard you as their enemies, and they would stretch forth their hands and their tongues against you with evil. They earnestly desire that you would abandon your monotheistic belief and worship.
60:3  Neither your relatives nor your children will avail you on the ‘Day of Resurrection’. He will judge among you. Lo! Allâh is the All-Seer of what you do.
60:4  There is an excellent pattern for you in ‘Abraham’ and those with him, when they said unto their own people: “Indeed, we disown you and the idols which you worship (& venerate) besides Allâh. We renounce you, and there has arisen between you and us animosity and hatred forever until you accept Allâh into your life”- except the saying of Abraham unto his father,"Indeed, I will pray for your forgiveness, but I have no power to do aught for you against the (will of) Allâh-”(They prayed): "Our Lord, We do depend on you with full trust, and unto You, we turn repentant. And to you is the definitive course..
60:5  Our Lord, make us not a temptation for those who excessively indulge in disbelief (in Allâh), and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, You, only You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."
60:6  Indeed, there has been for you in them an excellent pattern, for him who hopes for (clemency of) Allâh and for the Last Day. Whoever takes no heed, (must know that) Allâh is indeed the Self-Sufficient and the Owner of Praise.
60:7  It may be that Allâh will ordain love between you and those whom you hold as enemies. Allâh is All-powerful. He is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.
60:8  Allâh forbids you not to show kindness and to deal justly with those who do not wage war against you on account of religion and do not seek to expel you from your homes. Indeed Allâh demonstrates his own love for those who are just.
60:9  He only forbids you to be friends with those who fight you on account of your your faith and belief, and seek to expel you from your homes or to support others in your expulsion. Whoever makes friends with them, they are indeed grossly unfair and morally wrong.
60:10  O’ you who adhere firmly to Islamic Monotheism, when the monotheistic Muslim women come to you as refugees, examine (their faith) carefully: Allâh is All- Aware of their faith: if you find out that they (sincerely) accepted Allâh (into their life) , do not send them back to those who lack Faith in Allâh because they are not lawful (wives) for them, neither are the Unbelievers lawful (husbands) for them. Thus, pay the Unbelievers that (amount of money) that which they have spent (on their dower). There will be no blame on you to wed them if you pay them their dowries. However, hold not to the ties of marriage of the impious women: ask for what you have spent (on their dowers), and let them ask for what the Unbelievers have spent. That is the verdict of Allâh. He judges between you. Lo! Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
60:11  And if any of your wives ran away from you to the Unbelievers and she did not give you back the dowry which you spent on her, let the Muslims pay back such dowry from the property of the Unbelievers which may come into their hands. Thus, act piously towards Allâh in Whom you believe ( & trust).
60:12  O’ Prophet, when the monotheistic Muslim women come to you to give you the pledge that they will not associate anything in worship with Allâh, will not steal, will not commit adultery, will not kill their own children, will not bring a calumny which they have forged of themselves, and will not disobey you in what is right, then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them from Allâh. Indeed, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
60:13  O’ you O’ you who adhere firmly to Islamic Monotheism, do not make friends with a folk who incurred the wrath of Allâh! Indeed, they have despaired of the ‘Hereafter’ as those who lack Faith (in Allâh) despaired of those in the graves.
