49:1  Believers, do not put your opinions ahead of that of God and His Messenger, but remain mindful of God. God is All-Hearing and All-knowing.
49:2  Believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be as loud when you are speaking to him like you do to one another, unless you want your deeds to become worthless without you realizing.
49:3  Those who lower their voices before the Messenger of God, they are the ones whose hearts God has tested for being fully aware of Him. For them, there is forgiveness and great reward.
49:4  But those who call you from outside your private chambers, most of them do not understand.
49:5  Had they been patient until you came out to them, it would have been better for them. But God is Ever Forgiving and Merciful-to-all.
49:6  Believers, if a known wicked person brings you news, investigate, to avoid harming people out of ignorance and later regret what you have done.
49:7  Be aware that God's Messenger is among you. Had he obeyed you in many things, you would suffer hardship. But God has endeared your faith to you and made it pleasing to your hearts and made disbelief, mischief, and rebellion hateful to you. These are the rightly guided
49:8  a favor and a blessing from God. God is All-knowing and All-Wise.
49:9  If two groups of believers should fight each other, then try to reconcile them. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight the oppressing group until it complies with God's command. Once it has complied, make peace between them with justice and be equitable. God loves those who are equitable.
49:10  The believers are brothers so make peace between your brothers and remain mindful of God that you may receive mercy.
49:11  Believers, no men shall ridicule others, for they may be better than them. Nor shall any women ridicule other women, for they may be better than them. Nor shall you slander one another, nor shall you call each other names. How bad it is to be called disobedient after accepting faith! Those who do not repent of this behavior are unjust.
49:12  Believers, avoid being suspicious. Some suspicions are sinful. And don't spy or backbite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? No, you would hate it. So remain mindful of God. God is the Acceptor of repentance, the Mercy giver.
49:13  People, We created you from a male and a female, and made you nations and tribes so that you may know one another. The best among you in the sight of God is the one who is most mindful of God. God is All-knowing and All-Aware.
49:14  The Desert-Arabs say, "We have believed." Say, "You have not believed yet; but say [instead], 'We have submitted,' for faith has not yet entered your hearts. But if you obey God and His Messenger, He will not diminish any of your deeds. God is Ever Forgiving and Merciful-to-all."
49:15  The believers are those who believe in God and His Messenger, leave all doubt behind, and strive with their wealth and their persons for God's cause. Those are the ones who are true to their word.
49:16  Say, "Do you presume to inform God about your religion, when God knows everything in the heavens and earth, and God has full Knowledge of all things?"
49:17  They consider it a favor to you that they have submitted. Say, "Do not consider your submission a favor to me; it is God who has done you a favor, by guiding you to faith, if you are truly sincere."
49:18  God knows all that is beyond our senses of the heavens and the earth. God sees everything you do.
