to ride, embark, mount, be carried, go on board of a ship, voyage on (the sea), walk on (a road), commit (a fault).

one who rides, mounted.

use of a beast for riding.


mutarakibun

laying in heaps, ridden on one another, close growing, cluster over clustered, layer upon layer.


tarkabunna

to pass on, rise, ascend.

18:71
فَانطَلَقَا حَتَّى إِذَا رَكِبَا فِي السَّفِينَةِ خَرَقَهَا قَالَ أَخَرَقْتَهَا لِتُغْرِقَ أَهْلَهَا لَقَدْ جِئْتَ شَيْئا ً إِمْرا ً
Fānţalaqā Ĥattá 'Idhā Rakibā Fī As-Safīnati Kharaqahā Qāla 'Akharaqtahā Litughriqa 'Ahlahā Laqad Ji'ta Shay'āan 'Imrāan

So they ventured forth until they rode in a boat and he made a hole in it. He said: "Have you made a hole in it to drown its people? You have done something dreadful!"

29:65
فَإِذَا رَكِبُوا فِي الْفُلْكِ دَعَوْا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّاهُمْ إِلَى الْبَرِّ إِذَا هُمْ يُشْرِكُونَ
Fa'idhā Rakibū Fī Al-Fulki Da`aw Allāha Mukhlişīna Lahu Ad-Dīna Falammā Najjāhum 'Ilá Al-Barri 'Idhā Hum Yushrikūna

When they ride on a ship, they call on God, devoting the system to Him. But as soon as He saves them to the shore, they set up partners.

16:8
وَالْخَيْلَ وَالْبِغَالَ وَالْحَمِيرَ لِتَرْكَبُوهَا وَزِينَة ً وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ
Wa Al-Khayla Wa Al-Bighāla Wa Al-Ĥamīra Litarkabūhā Wa Zīnatan Wa Yakhluqu Mā Lā Ta`lamūna

And the horses and the mules and the donkeys, that you may ride them and as an adornment; and He creates what you do not know.

36:42
وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُمْ مِنْ مِثْلِه ِِ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ
Wa Khalaqnā Lahum Min Mithlihi Mā Yarkabūna

And We created for them of its similarity, to ride in.

40:79
اللَّهُ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الأَنعَام لِتَرْكَبُوا مِنْهَا وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Allāhu Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakumu Al-'An`ām Litarkabū Minhā Wa Minhā Ta'kulūna

God is the One who made the livestock for you that you may ride on some of them, and some of them you eat.

43:12
وَالَّذِي خَلَقَ الأَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الْفُلْكِ وَالأَنعَام مَا تَرْكَبُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhī Khalaqa Al-'Azwāja Kullahā Wa Ja`ala Lakum Mina Al-Fulki Wa Al-'An`ām Mā Tarkabūna

And He is the One who has created all the pairs, and He made for you from the ships and the livestock that which you can ride.

84:19
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقاً عَنْ طَبَق ٍ
Latarkabunna Ţabaqāan `An Ţabaqin

You will ride a platform upon a platform.




impv.

11:41
وَقَالَ ارْكَبُوا فِيهَا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا إِنَّ رَبِّي لَغَفُور ٌ رَحِيم ٌ
Wa Qāla Arkabū Fīhā Bismi Allāhi Majrāhā Wa Mursāhā 'Inna Rabbī Laghafūrun Raĥīmun

And he said: "Ride in it, in the name of God shall be its running and its anchorage. My Lord is Forgiving, Merciful."

11:42
وَهِيَ تَجْرِي بِهِمْ فِي مَوْج ٍ كَالْجِبَالِ وَنَادَى نُوح ٌ ابْنَه ُُ وَكَانَ فِي مَعْزِل ٍ يَابُنَيَّ ارْكَبْ مَعَنَا وَلاَ تَكُنْ مَعَ الْكَافِرِينَ
Wa Hiya Tajrī Bihim Fī Mawjin Kāljibāli Wa Nādá Nūĥun Abnahu Wa Kāna Fī Ma`zilin Yā Bunayya Arkab Ma`anā Wa Lā Takun Ma`a Al-Kāfirīna

And while it was running with them in waves like mountains, Noah called to his son, who was in an isolated place: "My son, ride with us, and do not be with the rejecters!"

2:239
فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ فَرِجَالاً أَوْ رُكْبَانا ً فَإِذَا أَمِنتُمْ فَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ كَمَا عَلَّمَكُمْ مَا لَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْلَمُونَ
Fa'in Khiftum Farijālāan 'Aw Rukbānāan Fa'idhā 'Amintum Fādhkurū Allāha Kamā `Allamakum Mā Lam Takūnū Ta`lamūna

But if you are in a state of fear, then you may do so while walking or riding. If you become secure, then remember God as He has taught you what you did not know.

إِذْ أَنْتُمْ بِالْعُدْوَةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ بِالْعُدْوَةِ الْقُصْوَى وَالرَّكْبُ أَسْفَلَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَوْ تَوَاعَدتُّمْ لاَخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِي الْمِيعَادِ وَلَكِنْ لِيَقْضِيَ اللَّهُ أَمْرا ً كَانَ مَفْعُولا ً لِيَهْلِكَ مَنْ هَلَكَ عَنْ بَيِّنَة ٍ وَيَحْيَى مَنْ حَيَّ عَنْ بَيِّنَة ٍ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَسَمِيعٌ عَلِيم ٌ
'Idh 'Antum Bil-`Udwati Ad-Dunyā Wa Hum Bil-`Udwati Al-Quşwá Wa Ar-Rakbu 'Asfala Minkum Wa Law Tawā`adttum Lākhtalaftum Fī Al-Mī`ādi Wa Lakin LiyaqĐiya Allāhu 'Amrāan Kāna Maf`ūlāan Liyahlika Man Halaka `An Bayyinatin Wa Yaĥyá Man Ĥayya `An Bayyinatin Wa 'Inna Allāha Lasamī`un `Alīmun

When you were on the near side, and they were on the far side, then the supply line became directly beneath you. And if you had planned for this meeting, you would have disagreed on its timing, but God was to enforce a command that was already done. So that He would destroy those to be destroyed with proof, and to let those who will live be alive with proof; and God is Hearer, Knowledgeable.

وَذَلَّلْنَاهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ
Wa Dhallalnāhā Lahum Faminhā Rakūbuhum Wa Minhā Ya'kulūna

And they were subdued by Us for them. So some they ride, and some they eat.

وَمَا أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَى رَسُولِه ِِ مِنْهُمْ فَمَا أَوْجَفْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ خَيْل ٍ وَلاَ رِكَاب ٍ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يُسَلِّطُ رُسُلَه ُُ عَلَى مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ قَدِير ٌ
Wa Mā 'Afā'a Allāhu `Alá Rasūlihi Minhum Famā 'Awjaftum `Alayhi Min Khaylin Wa Lā Rikābin Wa Lakinna Allāha Yusalliţu Rusulahu `Alá Man Yashā'u Wa Allāhu `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun

And what God provided to His messenger, without you having to battle for it on horses or on foot, was because God sends His emissaries against whoever He wills. And God is capable of all things.

فِي أَيِّ صُورَة ٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ
Fī 'Ayyi Şūratin Mā Shā'a Rakkabaka

In any which picture He chooses, He places you.

6:99
وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاء ً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِه ِِ نَبَاتَ كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ فَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهُ خَضِرا ً نُخْرِجُ مِنْهُ حَبّا ً مُتَرَاكِبا ً وَمِنَ النَّخْلِ مِنْ طَلْعِهَا قِنْوَان ٌ دَانِيَة ٌ وَجَنَّات ٍ مِنْ أَعْنَاب ٍ وَالزَّيْتُونَ وَالرُّمَّانَ مُشْتَبِها ً وَغَيْرَ مُتَشَابِه ٍ انظُرُوا إِلَى ثَمَرِهِ~ِ إِذَا أَثْمَرَ وَيَنْعِهِ~ِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكُمْ لَآيَات ٍ لِقَوْم ٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī 'Anzala Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fa'akhrajnā Bihi Nabāta Kulli Shay'in Fa'akhrajnā Minhu KhaĐirāan Nukhriju Minhu Ĥabbāan Mutarākibāan Wa Mina An-Nakhli Min Ţal`ihā Qinwānun Dāniyatun Wa Jannātin Min 'A`nābin Wa Az-Zaytūna Wa Ar-Rummāna Mushtabihāan Wa Ghayra Mutashābihin Anžurū 'Ilá Thamarihi 'Idhā 'Athmara Wa Yan`ihi 'Inna Fī Dhālikum La'āyātin Liqawmin Yu'uminūna

And He is the One who sent down water from the heaven, and We brought out with it plants of every kind. We brought out from it the green, from which We bring out multiple seeds; and what is from the palm trees, from its sheaths hanging low and near; and gardens of grapes and olives and pomegranates, similar and not similar. Look at its fruit when it blossoms and its ripeness. In this are signs for a people who believe.
