To cleave to the ground, to fall upon one's breast, lay prostrate upon the ground, to be motionless, to be dead or extinct.

7:78
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
Fa'akhadhat/humu Ar-Rajfatu Fa'aşbaĥū Fī Dārihim Jāthimīna
The earthquake took them, thus they became lifeless in their home.
7:91
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
Fa'akhadhat/humu Ar-Rajfatu Fa'aşbaĥū Fī Dārihim Jāthimīna
The earthquake took them, thus they became lifeless in their home.
11:67
وَأَخَذَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا الصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دِيَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
Wa 'Akhadha Al-Ladhīna žalamū Aş-Şayĥatu Fa'aşbaĥū Fī Diyārihim Jāthimīna
And those who had wronged were taken by the scream, thus they became lifeless in their homes.
11:94
وَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا شُعَيْبا ً وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَه ُُ بِرَحْمَة ٍ مِنَّا وَأَخَذَتِ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا الصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دِيَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
Wa Lammā Jā'a 'Amrunā Najjaynā Shu`aybāan Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Ma`ahu Biraĥmatin Minnā Wa 'Akhadhati Al-Ladhīna žalamū Aş-Şayĥatu Fa'aşbaĥū Fī Diyārihim Jāthimīna
And when Our command came, We saved Shu'ayb and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us; and the scream took those who had wronged, thus they became lifeless in their homes.
29:37
فَكَذَّبُوه ُُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
Fakadhdhabūhu Fa'akhadhat/humu Ar-Rajfatu Fa'aşbaĥū Fī Dārihim Jāthimīna
But they denied him, so the earthquake took them; thus they became lifeless in their dwelling.
