Transliteration Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tuharrimoo tayyibati ma ahalla Allahu lakum wala taAAtadoo inna Allaha la yuhibbu almuAAtadeena

Generally Accepted Translations of the Meaning
Muhammad Asad O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not deprive yourselves of the good things of life which God has made lawful to you, but do not transgress the bounds of what is right: verily, God does not love those who transgress the bounds of what is right.
M. M. Pickthall O ye who believe! Forbid not the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you, and transgress not, Lo! Allah loveth not transgressors.
Shakir O you who believe! do not forbid (yourselves) the good things which Allah has made lawful for you and do not exceed the limits; surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits.
Yusuf Ali O ye who believe! make not unlawful the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you, but commit no excess: for Allah loveth not those given to excess.
[Al-Muntakhab] O you who have conformed to Islam: Do not forbid the worthy and wholesome victuals Allah rendered lawful for you to eat, nor carry your concepts of the religion to excess and pass beyond due bounds; Allah does not like those who go beyond the limits prescribed.
[Progressive Muslims] O you who believe, do not forbid the good things that God has made lawful to you, and do not aggress; God does not like the aggressors.
Abdel Haleem You who believe, do not forbid the good things God has made lawful to you- do not exceed the limits: God does not love those who exceed the limits-
Abdul Majid Daryabadi O ye who believe! forbid not the clean things of that which Allah hath allowed unto you, and trespass not verily Allah approveth not the trespassers.
Ahmed Ali You, you those who believed, do not forbid/prohibit goodnesses (from) what God permitted/allowed for you, and do not transgress/violate , that God does not love/like the transgressors/violators.
Aisha Bewley You who have iman! do not make haram the good things Allah has made halal for you, and do not overstep the limits. Allah does not love people who overstep the limits.
Ali Ünal O you who believe! Do not hold as unlawful the pure, wholesome things that God has made lawful to you, and do not exceed the bounds (either by making forbidden what is lawful, or by over-indulgence in the lawful). God does not love those who exceed the bounds.

Allah does not love those who exceed the limits. (Self-mortification by ascetics, monks and mystics is not the way to 'purify' a 'soul').
Syed Vickar Ahamed O you who believe! Do not make unlawful the good things that Allah has made lawful for you, but do not overdo (anything or be excessive): For Allah does not love those who overdo (as a habit).
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International) O you who have believed, do not prohibit the good things which Allah has made lawful to you and do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors.

Bijan Moeinian O’ Believers, do not prohibit the pure things that God has made lawful for you [and do not live like Hindu friars or the Christian monks who have forbidden for themselves lawful food, sex, etc.] and do not go beyond the limits [prescribed by the Lord] as God does not like those who are extravagant [and walk in either direction of disbelief or too much exaggeration in the religion.]
Faridul Haque O People who Believe! Do not forbid the pure things, which Allah has made lawful for you, and do not cross the limits; indeed Allah dislikes the transgressors.
