Arabic وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ الْأَدْبَارَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ اللَّهِ مَسْئُولًا zoom
Transliteration Walaqad kanoo AAahadoo Allaha min qablu la yuwalloona al-adbara wakana AAahdu Allahi mas-oolan zoom

Generally Accepted Translations of the Meaning
Muhammad Asad although ere that they had vowed before God that they would never turn their backs [on His message]: and a vow made to God must surely be answered for! zoom
