| Literal | Maybe/perhaps you (are) exhausting/destroying yourself from anger that they not be believing. |

| Yusuf Ali | It may be thou frettest thy soul with grief, that they do not become Believers. |
| Pickthal | It may be that thou tormentest thyself (O Muhammad) because they believe not. |
| Arberry | Perchance thou consumest thyself that they are not believers. |
| Shakir | Perhaps you will kill yourself with grief because they do not believe. |

| Malik | O Muhammad, you will perhaps fret yourself to death with grief because they do not believe.[3] |
| QXP | (O Prophet) Will you, (in your compassion), torment yourself to death because they refuse to believe in it? |
| Maulana Ali | Perhaps thou wilt kill thyself with grief because they believe not. |
| Free Minds | Perhaps you are grieving yourself that they do not become believers. |

| Literal | If We want We descend on them from the sky an evidence/sign , so their necks continued/became to it bending/leaning . |

| 26:5 وماياتيهم من ذكر من الرحمن محدث الا كانوا عنه معرضين |

| Transliteration | Wama ya/teehim min thikrin mina alrrahmani muhdathin illa kanoo AAanhu muAArideena |
| Literal | And none from a reminder initiated/originated from the merciful comes to them except they were from it objecting/opposing . |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | But there comes not to them a newly-revealed Message from (Allah) Most Gracious, but they turn away therefrom. |
| Pickthal | Never cometh there unto them a fresh reminder from the Beneficent One, but they turn away from it. |
| Arberry | But never fresh remembrance comes to them from the All-merciful, except they turn away from it. |
| Shakir | And there does not come to them a new reminder from the Beneficent Allah but they turn aside from it. |
| Sarwar | Whenever a new message comes to them from the Beneficent God, they turn away from it. |

| Maulana Ali | And there comes not to them a new Reminder from the Beneficent but they turn away from it. |
| Free Minds | And not a reminder comes to them from the Almighty, except that they turn away from it. |
| Qaribullah | A fresh remembrance has never come to them from the Merciful, except they turn away from it. |

| 26:6 فقد كذبوا فسياتيهم انباء ماكانوا به يستهزؤون |

| Transliteration | Faqad kaththaboo fasaya/teehim anbao ma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oona |
| Literal | So they had lied/denied/falsified so (the) news/information (of) what they were with it mocking/making fun of, will come to them. |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | They have indeed rejected (the Message): so they will know soon (enough) the truth of what they mocked at! |
| Pickthal | Now they have denied (the Truth); but there will come unto them tidings of that whereat they used to scoff. |
| Arberry | So they have cried lies; therefore assuredly tidings will come to them of that they mocked at. |
| Shakir | So they have indeed rejected (the truth), therefore the news of that which they mock shall soon come to them. |
| Sarwar | They have called (our revelation) lies. They will soon learn the consequences of what they mocked. |
| Khalifa | Since they disbelieved, they have incurred the consequences of their heedlessness. |
| Hilali/Khan | So they have indeed denied (the truth this Quran), then the news of what they mocked at, will come to them. |
| H/K/Saheeh | For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule. |
| Malik | But now that they have neglected the warning, they will soon come to know the reality of what they have been mocking at.[6] |
| QXP | Thus indeed have they rejected this Message. But in time they will come to understand what it was that they ridiculed. |
| Maulana Ali | They indeed reject, so the news will soon come to them of that at which they mock. |
| Free Minds | They have denied, thus the news will come to them of what they used to ridicule. |
| Qaribullah | So, they belied, but surely the tidings of that they mocked will come to them. |

| George Sale | and they have charged it with falsehood: But a message shall come unto them, which they shall not laugh to scorn. |
| JM Rodwell | And treated it as a lie: But tidings shall reach them which they shall not laugh to scorn. |

| 26:7 اولم يروا الى الارض كم انبتنا فيها من كل زوج كريم |

| Transliteration | Awa lam yaraw ila al-ardi kam anbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareemin |
| Literal | Do they not see to the earth/Planet Earth how many/much We sprouted/grew in it from every/each generous pair . |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | Do they not look at the earth,- how many noble things of all kinds We have produced therein? |
| Pickthal | Have they not seen the earth, how much of every fruitful kind We make to grow therein? |
| Arberry | What, have they not regarded the earth, how many therein We have caused to grow of every generous kind? |
| Shakir | Do they not see the earth, how many of every noble kind We have caused to grow in it? |

| Free Minds | Did they not look to the Earth, how many plants have We raised in it, from each a good pair. |
| Qaribullah | Have they not seen the earth, how many We caused to grow in it every generous kind? |

| 26:8 ان في ذلك لاية وماكان اكثرهم مؤمنين |

| Transliteration | Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena |
| Literal | That in that (is) an evidence/sign (E) , and most of them were not believing. |
| |
|
| Yusuf Ali | Verily, in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. |
| Pickthal | Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. |
| Arberry | Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. |
| Shakir | Most surely there is a sign in that, but most of them will not believe. |
| Sarwar | In this there is, certainly, evidence (of the Truth). But most of them have no faith. |
| Khalifa | This should be a sufficient proof for them, but most of them are not believers. |
| Hilali/Khan | Verily, in this is an Ayah (proof or sign), yet most of them (polytheists, pagans, etc., who do not believe in Resurrection) are not believers. |
| H/K/Saheeh | Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. |
| Malik | Surely in this there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe.[8] |
| QXP | This is indeed a Sign, yet most of them are not believers (in the Almightiness of their Lord). |
| Maulana Ali | Surely in this is a sign; yet most of them believe not. |

| Literal | And that your Lord He is (E) the glorious/mighty , the merciful. |

| Yusuf Ali | And verily, thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. |
| Pickthal | And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. |
| Arberry | Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. |
| Shakir | And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. |

| 26:10 واذ نادى ربك موسى ان ائت القوم الظالمين |

| Transliteration | Wa-ith nada rabbuka moosa ani i/ti alqawma alththalimeena |
| Literal | And when Moses called/cried (to) your Lord that: "Come/bring the nation the unjust/oppressive." |
| |

| Yusuf Ali | Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- |
| Pickthal | And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, |
| Arberry | And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, |
| Shakir | And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, |

| Yusuf Ali | "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" |
| Pickthal | The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? |
| Arberry | the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' |

| Sarwar | and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?". |

| Literal | And my chest narrows/tightens and my tongue/speech does not speak/clarify, so send to Aaron . |

| Yusuf Ali | "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. |
| Pickthal | And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). |

| Maulana Ali | And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, so send for Aaron (too). |
| Free Minds | "And my chest would become tight, and my tongue would not be able to express; so send for Aaron." |
| Qaribullah | and my chest will become constricted and my tongue will not be loosed (in my speech), therefore, send to Aaron. |

| George Sale | and lest my breast become straitened, and my tongue be not ready in speaking: Send therefore unto Aaron, to be my assistant. |

| 26:14 ولهم على ذنب فاخاف ان يقتلون |

| Transliteration | Walahum AAalayya thanbun faakhafu an yaqtulooni |
| Literal | And for them on (against) me (is) a crime, so I fear that they kill me. |
| |

| Yusuf Ali | "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." |
| Pickthal | And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. |
| Arberry | They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' |

| Literal | He said: "No but, so you (B) go/go away with Our verses/evidences/signs, that We are with you hearing/listening." |

| Yusuf Ali | Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). |
| Pickthal | He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. |
| Arberry | Said He, 'No indeed; but go, both of you, with Our signs, and We assuredly shall be with you, listening. |
| Shakir | He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; |
